I could use a band buddy...

Recommended Posts

I am pretty much doing this alone. EVERYONE in my family is stick thin, so they dont really understand about this, AND to make matters better, (see I dont say worse, because to me, its for the better) I am going through a divorce right now.

So, having a bussy that understands what I am about to go through would be great!

To look at the bright side you have some great things going for you. Since EVERYONE around you is thin then they should have no trouble supporting you in your new life style. Being around healthy people tends to encourage a healthy life style. Which brings me to the second good thing. If your moving on from you old hubby, it may be time for an upgrade to go along with your nice new body you are working on!! So many things are changing for you, this is your chance to start fresh!

Hello~ I saw you post and I think we have some things in common. I was banded back in March and no one knows except my husband. So I guess I could use a band buddy too! Keep in touch and we can help each other through this! You are dealing with a lot of changes right now but stay positive and you will get through it.

It's so funny, I too was feeling very alone and having a ton of personal problems myself when I saw your post. It's been several months since I posted to this site.

I don't have a magic answer for you because I can't find it for me either but I do know that I will keep coming back to this site and browsing for the support I need. I have very little support with my band, I come from a family of obese people that when we're together it's a food frenzy... therefore, i'm on my own. when ever i go to a families house i bring the fruit and veggie tray. I am also having problems with my husband that believe it or not completey supported my band and now that i'm losing weight and feeling better, we are drifting apart and he has started drinking again.... so i'm trying to not relapse my self with food (which is still really easy) and just hold my self up and keep walking. I guess I was looking for a band buddy too. So thanks for your post and keep moving forward.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
