Anyone NOT own a scale?

Recommended Posts

The type of scale that you weigh yourself on, not a food scale. I threw mine out long ago. With PCOS, it got to be too frustrating to eat right, exercise, hop on the scale and see that it did not move.

Just curious if anyone else who is banded has gotten rid of their bathroom scale.

I don't have one and have been on the fence about getting a new one. I like the idea of participating in Friday weigh ins etc. BUT for me it's a lot easier to not check the scale I'm afraid it will discourage me too much. so for now I'm just going to judge by the way my clothes fit.

Hi,

Hey, but you HAVE lost the recommended amount of weight. You've lost between 1 -2 pounds per week, and closer to the 2 pounds. Congratulations!! And the best part of it is that those pounds are gone forever!! Keep up the good work.

ME!! ME!! I don't own a scale and don't intend to buy one either. Why torture myself with minimal losses (THANKS PCOS!)?

I want to set myself up for success, not failure. I will weigh in at the doctor office, once a month...and that is plenty. :girl_hug:

GOOD LUCK CYSTER!!

I don't have one either. I work in a hospital and My PCP is right upstairs, so every Monday I go weigh on the same scale. I love it...

No, no scale but my partner owns one! lol. Every once in a while he does the weight loss thing and uses the scale, but that's pretty much it.

I don't have one. Whenever I am on a diet, I weigh at work. I'm a teacher, and there's a scale in the office bathroom. It's the kind where you move the little bars, so I feel that it is pretty acurate. I can't handle having one at home.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
