Not lady like

Recommended Posts

7_5_142.gifI had my 2nd fill Monday. I have some restriction which is good. My problem is everything I eat or drink I start belching. I can't control it! It is soooo loud. Gas-X helps some but not always. Anyone else with this problem? :P

I burp all the time.. there's ways to stop taking in so much air, but.. maybe it's the southern girl in me, I have no problem belching whenever the need arises. Of course if I'm with someone, I say something and blame it on them so strangers don't think it was me.

This will sound funny but are you sure you are chewing with your mouth closed, and not using straws when you drink? Chewing with mouth open and using straws both mean you swallow a lot of air, and that plus the band equals burps!

I burp WAY more since being banded and it hasn't gone away. My husband says I burp like a sailor!! Nice huh? He wants to know what happened to the demure little lady he married...... LOL

FairyFacade...

I don't know which South you live in but my Southern family...the ladies would have to swoon and take to their boudoirs if they belched in public!

LOL

I used to burp quite frequently. I have noticed that the more solid food I eat, the less I burp. After about 6 month, I stopped having gas problems. If I eat thing, like artificial chocolate, it gives me gas and its painful. I do also have a problem with the hard hiccups. Like when i'm hungry, it hurts. Its kind of like my bottom stomach thinks my pouch has food in it and its trying to make it come down. i'm sure the reason is different but its all I could think of.

Just pay close attention to the types of food that you eat and when it is cause you to burp. I have never burped so long in my life before i got this surgery. If you are out, close your lips and cover your mouth with a napkin and just push slowly. it makes it less noticable.

Hollie chickie

What do you mean by "artificial chocolate"...the kind that is sugar free and has matodextrin or whatever it is, or something else?

(trying to learn from other's mistakes!)

I have been burping a lot and having my stomach make unexpected "belch" like sounds come out of no where since I had my second fill and have restriction. This can happen anytime of day. I had no gas at all before that, even right after my surgery! I thought I had escaped the "gassy" side effect of the lapband. Oh well, go figure. Not so lucky, I guess!

Yea like sugar free. Sometimes, i slip up and have real chocolate, but I have learned to not do that. My body did not like it too much. I can't even eat any type of fast food. Greese makes me feel so nauseas; like its coating my stomach. I am a big dairy person though. I love yogurt and drink a lot of fat free milk. But if you are not a dairy person like me, and you have it rarely, it can also give you gas. People's bodies are different. If your system is used to sugar free things, than having whatever that is but real, can tear you up. Like I always eat sugar free pudding and when i had some real kind that I got at a resturant, it was not a good day to be me.

Bottom line, GAS SUCKS! It's painful. To tell you the truth, I'd rather burp up a storm and look rude than have gas.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
