Tummy Tuck 2 Days Ago

Recommended Posts

Hey ShamrockGirl60, I just got banded on the 12th. I know I only lost 10 lbs. so far but I seem to be getting a little apron in the lower tummy area too already, below the belly button. I definitely am considering a Tummy Tuck. Maybe we'll be in the flatlands next year too.

Hey I have had an "apron" for years, it's shrinking by the day, but I know even if it's smaller there will be some skin hanging. Luckily it wasn't a huge apron.

Hope that I can get my insurance to cover a tummy tuck. Sometimes they do.

Any other suggestions that we are going to need for a quick and easy healing after our TT. I got the website for the garments, is this not something that your PS dr provides? If not, I need to go ahead and order one or two as suggested. What size do we order? I think I would be an extra large now but after the TT I might be a large. I've been reading other posts that suggested renting or buying an toilet seat raiser so you don't have to squat that far down.....really clever idea, stool softners were also suggested. Give me all details, I want to be completely prepared for a good and quick recovery. Did you drop a size in clothing? I'm so excited to be able to wear jeans with a shirt tucked in with a cute belt, that's my goal to get to.

I need to get motivated in exercising as well, any help with this is greatly appreciated.

No need to buy the binder garment. The doc/clinic provided it.

I had a toilet seat riser, but didnt use it much (it was in the ensuite, and I ended up mostly using the powder room bog).

I didn't need stool softeners but I ate a lot of fibre. No problem!

My advice DO NOT spend any more money than you have to. The surgery is expensive, and you will need your extra money for new clothes.

Good Luck !

Michee:

So happy you are getting along OK.

How much does a Tummy Tuck Cost?

I would like to get one very soon, but have not checked

prices.

Thanks

Asking about prices here doesn't really work because there are so many variables....

I live in Vancouver, BC so I got online and found some local plastic surgeons, they all have websites with contact info so I picked 5 or 6 and emailed them. I told them that I had lost a significant amount of weight and was looking at a tummy tuck....could they please supply me with prices, time frames etc. Of the ones I contacted the prices ranged from $6200 -$8600.

I've looked at a couple of surgeons in WA state (was banded there) as well as in Mexico....from everywhere I checked the prices go from $4300-$9700.....quite a spread.

I will be self-pay as I was for banding....and my TT savings account is finally to the point where I can seriously start looking into it !!!! YAYYYYY!!!! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
