My DD took a picture of me yesterday. I took the camera and looked at the picture, and said out loud, "She is pretty". I then realized that I was talking about myself.

Talk about a weird experience. It made me feel as if I really don't even know what I look like. I knew she was taking the picture, I told her too. Then when I look at the picture, I see a pretty lady there and don't even realize it is me....too weird....

Wow you look great! The slide show was awesome! (I can actually say it brought a tear to my eye!) From the first pictures to the most current ones, you looked sad in the beginning, but went to happy, beautiful and thin! And your family members are beautiful as well! Oh yeah, and you look much younger now too! Keep up the good work. I'm just starting out (banded 6 weeks ago) and you are such an inspiration to me! You are a beautiful woman! I'm glad that you can see that now! I'm sure you were always a beautiful woman, but now the outside matches the inside! Congratulations!

You brought a tear to MY eye reading your response!!!!:wink2:

Thank you for all the kind words. You know, it seems that it takes some time for your brain to catch up with your weight loss and to truly see a difference. Thats why it is sooo important to take those pictures, so you can see what is happening to your body.

It's pretty crazy to consider yourself pretty isn't it. That is always something I never thought I'd say. I'm sure it makes your family so happy to see that smile :]

You are an inspiration and you look great too.

You are exactly right when you say your brain has to catch up with your weight loss. Sometimes your mind stays fat and hasn't told your body that you are thinner! I have to remember to start taking pictures. I don't like to have my picture taken, but it can be a good motivational tool - especially to see how far you have come! Congratulations again! You look fabulous!

The first step to getting better is admitting you have a problem. Taking pictures of yourself now, could help you from turning back and also motivate you. Also, you can feel good and say, I don't look like that anymore. I love looking at my fat pictures. It makes me feel accomplished.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
