Birth Control.

Recommended Posts

thankfully not something I have to worry about anymore since when youngest #3 was born I Had signed the paperwork to get my tubes tied after the C-section. But I did birth control pills from 16 to 21 which worked well for me but because of my cholesterol levels they took me off them.

I Went through a period of using the sponge for a few years and I gotta say unless you have a steady partner willing to also use a condom DON'T lol. My ex REFUSED to wear condoms at all and my first 2 kids came from the sponge. I just hope if it is comming back on the market it has been improved. I wish at that time there were better options like there are now. But at the time it was pill, IUD which had TONS of complications, sponge, diaphram and condoms. So kmany better options now.

I never had a problem taking my pills daily since I left the container on my bedside table and my foster mom would ask me at Breakfast if I took it. After the first month I never forgot it.

I was on Yaz before I decided to get my IUD and it made my periods (and me) crazy. I much preferred the patch or the ring (tried those, too). My husband and I decided we didn't want any more kids for a while, so I got the IUD because it's nothing to think about for 5 years.

I just want to remind everyone, to remember that no bc is 100% effective (I know we all know that but :-). My SIL got pregnant on the pill and I have had 2 friends get pregnant with an IUD. One had twins...oy!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
