Well....

It really is dropping overnight!!!

May 12th i had my first consult with the Dr and i weighed in at 380

May 26th I had pre-op testing and i weighed in at 375

June 2nd was surgery day and i weighed in at 363

June 5th i weighed in at 362.1

June 6th i weighed in at 359, then right before i went to bed i was 357...i drank alot too...hehe

June 7th TODAY!! This morning i weighed in at 355.2.

I cant believe it. Im gonna stop weighing daily tho because i know this will eventually stop/platuae(sp) and then i will be bumbed. Im drinkin plenty of Water and doing what im suppost to but because of my pain im not excercising yet. The only difference i notice right now is that my double chin is slowly melting away. I cant believe this!!!!

I know im losing a little more than alot of people because im bigger and have more weight to lose......im so excited!!!!

Congratulations, Krystal! You're right not to let it go to your head, though, since it WILL slow down once you're on solid food. It might even reverse itself a little. But WOW, you are so far ahead of the game right now! :)

great work! Don't be discouraged once you hit solids, because most people find they even gain a little back when they hit that stage.

Hey Krystal-

How are you feeling today? We had our surg the same day and I'm doing great. I'm going back to work tomorrow. If you had asked me thursday tho... I really had wondered what I had gotten myself into. Friday was a whole lot better and the days have just continues to progress.

I haven't weighed myself yet. I thought about it when I got out of the shower this am, thought that I'd wait until my hair dried and then boom, Breakfast. Protein shakes and h20. I'll try to remember in the am. Hope I'm doing as great as you are. I feel like I'm getting so much Protein (2 oz/hr) that I don't have room for much else. I'm sure not hungry.

My port's on my left side and I'll swear that the Dr placed it to ride just at the rib line. It hurts like a son of a gun. Hope it's just the swelling and that once the muscle is use to it, I won't notice it.

Keep on keeping up what your doing!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
