pregnancy and weird hunger...

Recommended Posts

so I did get a fill a few days ago and it does seem to help the

CONSTANT hunger I've had with this pregnancy.. the weird thing is - I'll

eat dinner (1/2 piece tilapia and 3 bites broc last night), be satisfied - a tad full even... then 2 hours later, i was STARVING... enuff to wanna chew my left arm off... so at 9:00 last night I'm eating shredded BBQ

chicken.. I literally take 3-4 small bites - done.. not 'full', but

good..

I just don't understand how I go from 1 extreme to the other SO quickly.

thoughts??

I'm not pregnant, but I do the same thing.

I haven't documented it, but I figured it has to do with how much I drink between "full" and "starving again".. I like to drink, so I assume I am washing it through quicker.

Although I have been at the "starving again" stage, and burped up food I ate 12 or so hours before!

I haven't really had hunger, but I've had cravings to eat. Not particular foods, almost more of a craving to chew something. This was bad news at first, esp. since I got my partial unfill, so I've been trying to keep SF puddings, fruit, and veggies on hand at all times.

Closer to what you posted about, my threshold between "hungry" and "stuffed" is often a single bite.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
