i am almost 1 month post op, and all is well. i am 20 lbs down since surgery, and a total of 40 lbs since starting pre op diet on july 3rd. im back at work in the florida heat, and have not had any problems. i have had no food issues, and am trying to do the best i can considering i really dont feel that full feeling with the reccomended amounts, but they are a little more, 1200 to 1400 calories a day. is this normal to not have restriction before your first fill? i am not eating junk and bad food, which i know is important, and im still losing weight, i would just appreciate some support and input.

thanks

TONTY

Most of the time you won't have any restriction before you have a fill or a couple of fills, you'll have to grin and bare it until then. Sounds like you are able to cut back onyour own so keep it up. It took me 7 fills to reach what I consider my sweet spot so hang in there!

This is very normal so don't get discouraged! You are doing well, and making good choices which is the hardest part anyway. I've had 3 fills (banded in May) and am closer to the pot of gold of "restriction" lol but not sure if I'm there yet. Just remember the new full feeling you get is not a "stuffed" feeling but a satisfied feeling, and it takes a while to get used to. And hungry also will start to feel different. Great job so far, keep up the good work!

Awesome.... 20lbs since surgery - you should be so proud of yourself. It is very common to feel little restriction before your first fill. Everyone said to me wait until your 1st fill... now I am on my third fill... 4th month and down 53lbs. I noticed that the week before my next scheduled fill is when I notice that the restriction is less and that I am ready for a fill. I asked my doctor and he said it was because as we lose weight our stomach shrinks so the band gets looser and we have less restriction.

Best of luck... you are doing great.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
