Tired all the time.

Recommended Posts

Hello. I was banded on the 6th. I am still tired all the time. I wake up and 4 hours later im wanting to go back to bed for a few hours. I slept last night from 5pm to 11pm, then 2am to 7am, and here is is 11am and I wanna crawl back into bed. I was wondering how long does it take before you get your energy back and not sleepy all the time.

I think it is different for everybody. I was tired for about 10 days. I tried to listen to my body and rest when it wanted me to. When I went back to work after having 8 days off, I found that I was fine not napping even though I felt like it.

I would listen to what your body is telling you. You just might need some extra sleep so your body can heal. Make sure you are getting enough Protein too!

Hope you are feeling better soon!

I know after my hysterectomy last year I felt like that for at least 10 days or so, I would expect the band to be the same way. Any time they invade your body like that you need extra rest to heal.

I am 3 1/2 months post op and I am still struggling with fatigue (and mild hair loss) and sometimes just pure exhaustion. My doc assures me it will pass but it hasn't. I am taking bariatric Vitamin B-12 and B-complex in addition to the mulivitamin. Sometimes it will give me some energy but not enough to make it through the day. It is a constant struggle despite the Myoplex Protein shakes, so I know its not the lack of Protein daily and blood work shows my protein levels are normal.

Sometimes the anaesthetic can knock you around for a while but hang in there, I am sure it will get better. Just ensure you keep up the eating etc

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
