1 year out -98lbs

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow will be my one year anniversary. Unless I miraculously lose 2 lbs overnight I won't make my goal of 100lbs in one year but I feel really good anyway. The weight has been coming off more slowly now and I dont really think I want to lose much more. Thanks for everyone's support and best of luck to you all!

Wow!! 98 pounds in a year that is an amazing accomplishment you should be so proud! I am waiting to be banded and I hope that I can be as successful. Did you loose weight pre-band or did it all come off after you were banded?

Congratulations!!

I didn't lose any weight before the band. This is all lost since August 8, 2007.

Congrats and wtg. I think getting within 2 pounds of your goal is close enough for me. I would declare goal but that's just me :tt2:

Absolutely wonderful and keep up the great work.

Karen that is great. Because you took it off slowly, it will make it much easier to keep off. (I think anyway) I have spoken and seen others who have taken that off in 2months with the by-pass surgery and now when you see them they look as if they never had surgery in the first place.

You will reach your goal soon. Now next goal is to keep up the good work that you have accomplished.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
