I Started out great, but now I've gone to my bad habits

Recommended Posts

I'm feeling so down right now. I had done so good. My band was June 24, 2008. I just had my first fill, and I've lost 33 pounds since pre-op, but now, I'm starting to forget to eat Protein, and I've had a few chocolate bars today. I'm starting to feel the same way I felt before the surgery, always looking for something to eat.

Please, someone, give me some advice. Has anybody felt this way? Has anyone fallen off the wagon? Can you fall off the wagon with this?

Hang in there, a fill will probably help you and no doubt cut that appetite. This is hard work, no doubt about it, but its doable hard work. We all have days where we dont eat well, and probably always will but that's not important, getting back on the wagon is.

And I've always been an advocate of moderate dieting, as in allowing yourself some of what you crave now and then.

I am sure there will be days of cheating! Thing is, I won't feel bad about them or dwell on it. I will simply get back to the plan. Forgiving yourself and loving yourself is the real battle here.

I cheat. And I forgive, and I try again.

Don't dwell on failure, dwell on success! One good day begets another, and another and another...

Congrats on your weight loss! I am hoping to be able to boast a good loss real soon.

OUR bandaversaries are the same :huggie: However I have had a fill every month since and I am still not losing or experienced that "full" feeling just stuck feeling is all form eating too fast. I feel ya and now that Christmas is over I feel really hungry! Isn't that weird. I am due for another fill on the 6th and can't wait I didn't get a fill in Dec. becasue I had lost 9.8 lbs but now I am starving alot so I think I am due for a fill maybe that is what you need too. GOOD luck! You have lost more than I have :huh2: I feel embarrassed...you go girl keep that chin up and that will power at hand!!!!!

I understand. I had my surgery June 16th 2008 and I have struggled to listen to my body while trying to quiet my mind hunger.

I think that treats in moderation are great - except for myself they lead to little binges or just a slide back down for me - not saying this is true for everyone.

Even today I am getting back on track after quite a food day yesterday, I move on and get over it.

Good luck, be kind to yourself and remember tomorrow is another day!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
