Feeling discouraged...

Recommended Posts

Wow, I need some major hugs today. I am feeling very discourged with the initnal pre-op paper work. One day they need "this" and the next day they need "that". I am so jazzed to have this sugery....RIGHT NOW!! I really hope the process speeds up a bit. I am getting depressed.

Hang in there. It will all get done. Due to some scheduling issues I had to get all of my stuff together in less than a week and I ended up with over a dozen appointments at different times. But it all worked out.

It also seemed like I was spending more money every day but that too is ending. Just think of how much happier you will be when this is over and you are banded.

Most of us get very impatient during those difficult weeks between the time we finally decide to have surgery and the day we actually get banded. What you're going through is normal. Hang in there and keep filling out the effing forms. You're getting a band!

Oh it's so much fun to start that thread, too! It hit me one time when I visited a thread that started before I was banded. It was about "where's your port" I was so excited to be able to answer that! I have a port!! And it's MY band! It's a good feeling. you'll get there Margo. Keep plugging along and all this will seem like a distant memeory.

(((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))

*hugs*

The waiting part seems to take forever, while you're doing it. Once its over, you'll think it flew by.

I was really impatient. From my first consultation to my actually surgery, took two months. In hindsight, this was an extremely short time.

The next phase, waiting for the weight to drop off, is frustrating as well LOL. But you will get there eventually.

It takes the normal person years to become overweight, so we won't get skinny overnight (although I've had several dreams where I was thin as a pencil lol).... but I'm sure it's going to be worth the wait :(

"although I've had several dreams where I was thin as a pencil lol".

WOW, I just had one of those dreams last night and I swear I was running around naked as a jay bird through the whole dream!!

I guess I am so impatient because I just feel so gross, my whole body hurts, my clothes are too tight, it's getting warm out and the heat bugs me....I want a date so I can have my "last supper" and start this two week liquid phrase....

I am just so uncomfortable I can hardly stand it.....

I want to thank everyone for the support....I truly need it right now.

Patience is a virture- Be Virturous!!!

If that doesn't work go get a banna split - LOL LOL

All kidding aside you need to stay vigilante through this process. It is sometimes(like mine was) a very long & tuff road. But the good news there will be a "pot of skinny" on the other end.

Be good to your self during the process & try not to have to many "last suppers" I ended up gaining over 10 pds while getting my date. It took me nearly 7 mnths. In the end I ended up being self pay anyway.

I wish you luck & stamina!!!

Margo, I know exactly how you feel. I am right there with ya' kiddo. I cannot wait, and am very impatient. But, I know, and you know, it will be so worth the wait.

Hang in there, you are gonna love it. At least that is what all the bandsters are telling us!

I know it's frustrating but hang in there. I almost fell over when I had to complete my 16 page health history. Before you know it, everything will be completed and you will be banded.

Hugs to you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
