Hi Angie & lolo619. I am from San Diego originally and I am working hard to get back there by the summer of next year. Texas is nice but it's not San Diego! :smile2:

Hi, my name is Christee, I am 29 years old, and married to a wonderful man which is a Deputy for Pasco County, FL. I work full-time for Department of Corrections, Probation and Parole (10 years) and am a licensed Esthetician (Skin Care Specialist). I do it to family and frinds until I can find a job doing it in the evenings after my full-time job. I notice that it is really hard to get a job in a spa helping people with their skin and telling them to drink Water and eat healthy when you are over weight. I was practically offered a job over the phone as an esthetician in a spa right near my house, but when I showed up to give her my resume, she gave me excuses as to why she couldn't hire me on the spot before even looking at my resume. I know it was because I was overweight. So I plan to open my own spa and hire people who are not snooty and think their shit doesn't stink.

Anyway, I do not have any kids currently but have tried for about 3 years. I was told that I have PCOS but that this surgery would help and I would someday be able to get pregnant. I pray to God that I can. I love kids and would have 10 if I could afford it. What is sad, my husband is the same way, he wants lots of kids also.

Sorry, I went off about the spa incident but it just frustrates me that people can be rude and judge a person by their looks. I am a wonderful person with a heart of gold.

Thanks for listening.

Hi Just thought I would quit lurking and join in the fun. My named is Angela. I am a 35 yr old wife and mother of 3 boys. I am also an ER nurse that needs to lose some weight....I have been steadily gaining weight since I was 18 and just can't seem to ever keep it off. I was banded AUG 18th, so far so good. I want to shop in the regular area of a store for once in my adult life (I think i will cry when it actually happens.) My family and I are huge sports fans and often can be found on a ball field or in the Grandstands of a NASCAR race.. (GO GORDON #24). I look forward to making this journey with all of you from all over the world. GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS!

Welcome Angela! I got banded today and have to stay overnight (apnea monitoring) but that's not keeping me from watching the NFL Preseason game tonight. Good thing it's a private room...or my yelling at the tv would probably get me in trouble!

I realized I have never reall introduced myself here so here I go...

hello all...My name is Patty and I am a wife/ mom and teacher. I have a beautiful 13 year old girl who is a competitive figure skater...a husband who works in the automotive paint industry at the corporate level and I am a Chemistry /Forensic Science teacher at our local high school in NJ.

I started dieting when I was 18 years old...5 ft 7 and weighed a HORRIBLE 139......(I only WISH I weighed that now...lol).I went down to 132 and than went back up to 145..down to 137..back to 153 and ate myself up and down the scale for years...I evened out at about 170 and than went onto steroids for 10 months due to Lyme disease mimicking MS...gained about 80 lbs from that and never quite took all that weight off.

So I am now banded....I am on a clear liquid diet...and I am doing the Sip/Growl/ Burp thing...lol My stomach hasnt stopped growling for the least 48 hours...lol

So that is me...I look foward to doing this journey with you all now that I am calmer than I was before the surgery...

Yes I sip my clear liquids...my stomach growls (loud enough so my dog growls back) and than I burp....I am such fun to be around...

and might I add that this morning...well lets just say I could add the word fluff to it...

thus the sip growl burp thing...lol which has advanced to sip/growl/burp/fluff (fluff is that thing women do that men pull each others fingers for...hehehe)

Hello all! I was banded last Tuesday and am feeling good! I'm looking so forward to this next year and the weight loss journey.

I am married with 27 and 20 yr. old daughters and a 19 yr. old son. The two youngest are now in college and so am I. I will be applying for the nursing program this December and am so very excited about it.

I am looking forward to all the support from everyone on this forum and will offer my support wherever it is needed.

We can do this!

I'm home from being banded!! YAY Liver was small enought this time. I guess I get to change my ticker! No pain meds but liquid tylenol and it's all under control. To be honest? I've felt better but I've also felt a LOT worse! My problem? I can drink Water in swallows not sips. No pain. I wait between swallows....I thought it was supposed to hurt and feel bad and I could only sip? but it feels groovy. They did a GI and every is where it's supposed to be and going where it's supposed to be so I guess I'll just consider myself lucky and go with the flow

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
