A must see video

Recommended Posts

I read a thread and someone suggested viewing a 5 part video showing the lap band procedure. I highly recommed it, it is very imformative and I personally got a lot out of it. I had attended a seminar that showed stills, this shows it all. Of course everyone's Doctor has their own procedure, put a lot of my questions were answered.

I know a few of you may have already seen this, but for me it was new.

If you go to Youtube and key in " Live Lap Band surgery - Kansas City ", there are 5 parts and it takes about an hour to watch. It is a quality video of a complete lap band surgery. The Doctor explains everthing while he is working.

Let me know what you think.

Caution - No blood and guts, but it does show an actual surgery.

Take care everyone -

I know you said that it doesn't have any blood and guts...but I'm too sweemish!! Just the thought of the knife on the skin is too much for me. I was never able to watch a c-section delivery because it was just too much for me...and I've had 3 c-sections!! I'm not scared of the surgery just looking at it.

Thats okay, we all have our "quirks".

Someone was telling me about a work related accident, just words, and I amost passed out. Blood I can do, but words. I must be a sickie, I love watching Discovery Health.

What is up with that?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
