An interesting thing happened to Me!

Recommended Posts

On Friday I was eating fine. I consider my band perfect for me now by the way. Restricyion and freedom wise. Well I had eaten some Turkey roast which I chewed well and ate little prior to this. Afterwards It was like I'd had a fill for like 2 and a half days! Finally on monday I can eat. Sat/Sun. Protien shakes and little food! Strange.

I figure either there was some irritation or something stuck.

HUNG CHOW again baby!

Happy top be normal again!

Any ideas

Is it that time of the month? Oh, no, guess not, sorry Bobby!! hehe That tends to be a factor for women that effects restriction. Maybe this sudden 2 day restriction had to do with salt intake? What else could cause a bit extra swelling in the area that might increase you rescticition temporarily? Hmmm. You may be right about something (the roast) getting stuck a bit and causing swelling. Sounds to me like you are really in tune with your band and how it makes you feel and eat. That's great, I feel like I'm just floundering around so much of the time! I have so much to learn about my band, (sigh)

LMBO - Kathy!

Bobby, Ive had this same mystery restriction occur off and on as well.

I remember a while back Leatha woke up in the middle of the night with the need to pb - she gained restricion while she was sleeping........ who knows how and why this happens?!?!?!

Enjoy it while it last!!! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
