July 24th is my date!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I'm on the all liquid diet. I'm on antibiotics (I have a history of staph infection with surgeries) I am very anxious about this. I am second guessing myself. I HAVE to lose weight. I weigh 240 and am 5'7". I played college ball and at my most fit I was 160# and skinny. So I would like to lose 80#. I am a very motivated person but after 3 preg. back to back I have put on wt :blushing:

I've been reading and doing alot of research. Anyone else have horrible last minute jitters??? How do I mentally get through this?? My sis and mom both have a band so I'm very familiar with everything....just SCARED!!!!!!

Just think about all of us out here just waiting for a date to have this done. You are very lucky to get started so be happy you are getting this over with and started your journey to a new healthy person. How did your Mom and sister do? Just say a prayer and everything will be fine. Good Luck!

I think that is part of my anxiety. My mom and a band done 16yr ago. It's not adjustable. She lost about 130# and has gained 50# back. She has very bad eating habits. My sis has lost about 50# in over a year. She only has about 20# more to lose.

I am paying cash and this is a BIG sacrifice for my husband and I. I just hope I am not making the wrong decision. And what if I hate it and what if I have infection and what if something bad happens....etc!!! I just can't keep saying the what if!!!! grrrrrr

I just want to be on the other side and skinny and healthy!!!

I'm a self pay and it was the same for me. Lots of pre-op jitters. From reading the message boards here it sounds very common.

Yep, instead of driving a new car or new cabinets and granite in my kitchen .... I decided on the new body and a new healthier me instead. I'm 3-1/2 weeks post op and am VERY happy with my decision.

There's risks just getting up and walking out your front door in the morning. With this journey, you get a DOCTOR to help you, so take comfort in that!!

Congratulations and good luck on your future success!

I am going in on the 24th also! I just found this board. I am 5'4" and have to lose 140lbs. Yes that is right. I am scared/excited also, and STARVING. I am such a big baby. I read that someone felt filled up with chicken broth, so far, I haven't felt that. I will be keeping my "sister bander" in mind on Thursday.

My date is also the 24th! I too am doing the pre-op diet and am soooo hungry. I'm trying to keep my eye on the prize, but it's difficult, especially with the pre-op jitters. This is all happening so fast for me. I'm a self-pay and hope I am making the right decision. Good luck to you.

July 24 is my date also, and I am self-pay. I refuse to shell out that sort of money and fail at this! I started trying to lose weight the day I got my surgery date, and have lost 25 pounds. Now I am really motivated. For the first time today, someone asked me if I had lost weight. Friends keep asking me if I am nervous - strange I guess, but I am not. I have just about 100 pounds to lose now. Good luck to all of us on July 24!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
