Help!! I don't do any kind of milk products, how can I get my protein in?

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the tip on the pea Protein.

There is also a great tasting Protein shake I get at costco. It's made by Premier and has 30 grams of Protein in a soy formula, but it does have milk protein in it. it's 160 calories. It's a ready to drink kind and easy to take with you to the office or in the car.

You get 18 shakes for $23.99 which is a pretty good deal.

I found out that i couldn't tolerate any of the whey Proteins either. I found this one and it tastes like SF grape koolaid--not bad. I drink it mixed with Water, but I'm sure it can be mixed with just about anything. It's called LiquaCel. I bought it online through colonial medical--here's the website:

Thank you everyone for your suggestions, I really appreciate it. I have one more week left on the liquid phase. Hopefully the mushy phase will be a bit easier.

Google "New Whey". You can buy a vial that is 3oz and contains 42 grams of Protein. A case of twelve vials is 27.99 at supplements.net.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
