What was the straw that broke the camel's back for you?

OMG huge (pun intended) :) Harry potter fan..planning on making the pilgrimage this summer. If that doesn't motivate me nothing will!!!!

Sucky thing is, obviously overweight people aren't getting on that ride, but it is also your body SHAPE. I am tall and very hippy plus the never go away gut after a kid. The seat is like a child car set. hard plastic frame around your thighs, a piece between your legs, tight on shoulder, then, then the chest bar that comes down. There wasn't anywhere for my fat to swish to! A LOT of people where having issues with it. I think they need a car that is for larger people. But a family of Tomato people got off the ride after me. All chins and chests and they got to ride. I didn't tell my friends that I didn't get on, I told them it was great (which it was). Sucked though..2 hour wait for nada..

My straws started about 6yrs ago...I had my second child at 30 and found it hard for the weight to fall off. In my 20s, i'd be able to work out when I wanted to and it would fall off...then at 34 I had twins! The weight was like, "nope, we're going to gain with the babies!" Then last january I had knee surgery, my body was not made to hold this weight! Now that the twins are mobile...very mobile in diffrent directions, I need to be able to out run them...lol!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
