6 days banded, this is so easy!

Recommended Posts

My friends can't believe how good I look, how much energy I have for having the lapband less than a week.

I can't believe it either, this is what I was so frightened of? LOL!!!!

Should be back at work, but when I feel this great, why rush it.:(

Congrats! I found it easy and very quick to recover from too.

But dont be suprised if the doomsayers descend on this thread telling you how the honeymoon phase is bound to end.

it doesnt always. It never did for me. Hope its the same for you.

Still doing great! I had one low energy day, but it didn't last long.

Did not have any of the shoulder pain some complain about, I wonder if the surgeon had anything to do with that, like sucking out the air they pumped into the cavity to expand it.

I did um.. burp and fart alot for a few days. I live alone and the dogs didn't mind. LOL..

The swelling is down and I'm able to eat a whole cup of food. My goal until my first fill is to not gain anything!

On the 26th I can resume exercise at Curves, yay! I'm walking a mile a day, and 30 minutes cardio (dancing) 3 x a week. Low fat, low sugar, no refined carbs.

Congrats 2 u! It sounds like you are doing fantastic. I had my surgery on7/15/08. Today is one week post-op, and I am feeling better. The gas pains come and go, but it's so worth it. I have lost 16lbs. since my post-op diet, and I am thinking this is the greatest decision I have ever made. I am a little nervous about the fills, and how I will feel after. My first mini goal is 30lbs. by Sept. 1st. We are going to Disney! LOL to U.

Hi,

Am I a big baby?

Had my surgery this morning at 9:30 and was home by 2:00 but I am in so much pain.

In my back, chest, boobs! My stomach area is so soar, between my ribs in front. I want to cry but that would hurt too bad.

I had a c-section and a full Tummy Tuck and they hurt but I could find some relief but this...

It is 3:14 in the morn. and I am scared and in pain.

Is this normal?

Oh, and I am walking but not sure how much that helps.

Hi arizonagirl, you are far from being a big baby. You´ve just had surgery, this band is not as easy as people seem to think it is. Your tummy has been probed and cut and gas put in it. It will take some time for the swelling to go down, some people are lot more sensitive to the surgery than others.

Try take it easy, relax, drink lots of little sips of Water, clear Soups, nutritian shakes, whatever your doctor suggested so that you can help your body heal. I promise it gets better. Hang in there.

Congrats on making the healthiest decision in your life.

Mrs J.J.

Thanks Mrs. J.J.

I know it will get better but just never thought it would feel this bad. Even my Doc. in pre-op told me what a walk in the park it would be.

The sun is up now and my sweet husband is talking the day off to watch our boy. Today will be better.

Well I was a real whiny baby and milked it for all it was worth! :) I'm never going to be able to be pampered and be waited on like this again for years to come so I made the most of it.... yep I know... I'm going to go to hell (where all my friends are! lol)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
