Have a great time! It will be a wonderful way for you to gather up some extra spiritual strength for the challenges ahead. Imagine how much more pleasurable future mission trips will be when you are more physically able :)

I havent been here in a couple days because Ive been so busy. That is good and bad. Good because Ive been able to keep up with what I need to, but bad because I really have been pushing myself too much I think.

Got ds off to college, shopped, packed etc. Im saaaaaaad that he is gone. He was a real support for me :) I also worked Wed and Thur but was suffering with real weakness and lightheadedness. I have a call into the dr's office because I dont think im getting in enough prot. I physically cannot fit more than one can of shake in me and im lucky if i get that much in. im drinking plenty of Water. Im taking off work tomorrow night because i just need more days to recoup. I work in a busy ER and there is no room for slackers. I felt bad last night having to ask for help moving patients, and I bagged out a half hour early because i just couldnt go on.

Anyway, I am down 18 pounds and happy about that. I really would like to start some mushy foods ASAP. I just feel like Im fadeing fast.

Soooooooooo, how are all you guys doing? Going to read back and see what Ive been missing  I see a new mom of 5 snuck in here YEAH!!

Way to go! Down 18 lbs. That is great.

Remember to get your Protein in, that is important. I have found when I get busy I just go without and I really start to drag. I finally felt like myself yesterday - so wtg with getting back to work, and a physically demanding one at that. I still won't pick up the laundry basket!

Hope you are feeling stronger, I know you are feeling thinner!

Well I called the dr today and his office finally got back to me late this afternoon. Im guessing your right about the Protein thing because i have barely been able to get 30 grams of prot. down a day. Today i got some shake mix that tastes a bit better and went down really easy so i got 50 grams down. it made a huge difference already. i also need to really push the Water. i thought i was but need to more. i wont pick anything up like a laund basket either:whatchutalkingabout I just felt a bit guilty at work asking for others to do some of my lifting and pushing. I pull more than my weight (no pun intended) when Im 100% though, so I need to just let it go for a bit now.

Yep, i am feelin thinner

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
