Ok, so the hubby is insistant I spoil myself for my birthday. Well ok, he actually had to twist my arm for it cause I don't like spending lots of money on me.

Well anyhow, July 15th hair highlights and a new phone (the apple iPhone 3rd generation 8gig, or 16 gig if I can get a good deal). Then on my birthday I am getting a brazillian wax and back/neck massage. FINALLY on August 15th I am getting a manicure and pedicure.

I know why break it up, but see here is how it is. It was the ONLY way he could get me to agree to it all. I don't agree with spending that kind of cash on me, when I can get the boys or the hubby so much with it. SO, he said no, this is for your birthday you either find a way to make it work for you, or I call and make the appointment and pay for it all in one go NOW.

Yeah, he won this round ...

*complains*

Am I alone in not wanting that much money spent on me? I mean really how do you handle that kind of cash being spent on you in one sitting (including tips we are looking at damn mean 400-450)??? I hate the idea but hey, he said I have managed to worm my way out of him spending money on me one to many times and he will WILL win this round even if it means he pays NOW from the sand box.

Am I just that weird?????

In my experiences with my wife, she always wants to take care of "her boys" first. It is difficult at times to spoil her as much as she deserves, so I say just enjoy it!

Take the gifts and enjoy! I am not sure about you, but as for me being so overweight has caused me to avoid spending any money on myself and the same for letting my hubby spoil me. I guess because I always hoped it was a temporary thing I didnt want to buy pricey clothing or shoes. I think it also had to do with having a low self esteem so I'd put myself last, always! My b'day is coming up on 7/15 and my wedding anniversary is that same week. For the first time DH went out and bought me a huge anniversary gift and I didnt argue. He bought me not one, but two Coach bags : ) (OK, I might have argued with that splurge if they werent a serious sale price but this time only because we are saving to buy our first home and I could sacrifice for that) I am not sure what I'll get for my b'day but I finally realized that with all of my hard work and dedication I truly deserve it...AND SO DO U!!! Let him spoil you- most women would kill for a hubby like yours!

P.S. Happy Birthday!!!

At the risk of sounding flippant, Sounds like your husband will be enjoying this birthday gift too. Odds are, he'll reap some benefits of a rested, pampered wife when he gets home, right? So there's your justification...

Well, I got my highlights done yesterday. They look good too! Blond, red, and a dark dark coffee color (not black, black looks tacky on me). It's funny, the only color that turned out like it should was the blond :frown:. The red came out more blond then red, and the coffee came out more red the coffee. But it still looks great, I wouldn't trade it for nuthin. I might even keep it kept up this time around instead of letting it grow out like I normally do.

I'm like you...I think about all the bills I could be paying. Anyway, it doe feel good to be spoiled once in a while. Enjoy it! Although I'd have to say the brazilian wax experience may not classify as "enjoyable" OUCH!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
