Follow-up Care in San Diego or Phoenix

Recommended Posts

I need a good surgeon for continuing care/fills in either San Diego or Phoenix. I had my surgery on 11-1-07 and I am moving from Tampa to Yuma, AZ in a few weeks. I'm almost at goal but I may need one more fill and I prefer not to do Fill Centers. I'll still need follow-up care during the next few years while I'm in Yuma to make sure everything's okay with my band as well.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Scottsdale Bariatric Center and Dr. Blackstone are wonderful! You can Google the Center and look at their website. Everyone in the office is so nice and they help you through everything! Good luck on your move!

I had my surgery done in Flagstaff, AZ by Dr. Berger at Flagstaff Bariatrics and had a wonderful experience. I know that Flagstaff is a bit of a drive from Yuma, but everyone in the office is positive and wonderful. His partner, Dr. Aldridge performed the lap-band surgery on my mom in May, and she also has had a wonderful experience. Good luck on your move!

Mexicali, MX is just 55 miles west of Yuma. Fills under fluoro for $75.00 by surgeons, not techs or nurses.

I also live in Yuma. Here is a link that may help you:

I found a thread by Alex regarding lapband surgery in Yuma, AZ. I'm hoping that this doctor will be willing to provide you with aftercare

I was banded 9/8/08 and I'm 16 pounds to goal. This has been an amazing journey for me, I'm loving every single step. I have been looking for other Yuma bandsters, if you're interested in getting together for a chat, or maybe a walk, please let me know.

Dr. Mark Takata at Scripp's Clinic in San Diego is outstanding. Everyone in his office is very helpful.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
