Question

I am still waiting for my surgery date but I have a question. Does the lap band really make you not feel hungry? I have read success and horror stories (people gaining weight, etc...) and I am wondering if it is worth it. I love healthy food, fruits and veggies and chicken but I always eat because I am always hungy and I feel like I would do great if there were somthing to make me not be hungry but now I am wondering if this is it? Help!:)

Yes and no...It helps if you have restriction. I used to be hungry (pre-band) 2 hours after meals. Now I am hungry 4-5 hours after I eat. I also don't eat much, so yes for me. I am needing another fill because I am getting hungrier sooner and my portions are a bit bigger.

Deanna,

for me yes it is worth it. I don't have the greatest restriction(I could eat large portions. I don't) Hunger wise it has been great. My last fill really took care of the hunger between meals. I can go 4-6 hour without needing to eat. Sometimes I make myself sit and have a meal so I won't be hit with cravings and/or over eat. Head hunger is another matter. Sometimes when I'm bored I think I'm hungry. But I'm getting a handle on that too.

Good luck!

you will get hungry... the band won't stop that... everyone gets hungry eventually BUT you'll go longer periods of time between eating. you'll eat less and get full faster.
