Bonnie - I'm so sorry to hear about your iPod. I hope you can get the MP3 Player to work for you. Don't give up - all your efforts haven't been ruined. Don't let a thief ruin your whole day. Is your birthday coming up? Maybe DH and the kids will get you another one. (hugs)

Kathy - it's so great to hear from you. I'm glad you are feeling better after your accident. I'm thrilled that your interview went great. I believe everything happens for a reason - there really is a grand plan. Hopefully you'll end up with a better job than you originally had and love every minute of it!

Thanks everyone for the shoe suggestions. I've got to break down and buy some. I'm going to look and try on this weekend.

I went to weigh in today and the OTC was closed. Both employees were out - so I couldn't get weighed. That gives me another week before I weigh. I am going to do my best not to step on the scale at home. Hopefully next Thursday they'll be big numbers there!!!

Bonnie~ Sorry about your ipod. I'm glad you got your mp3 player working though.

Kathy~ Glad to hear you're doing okay. Congrats on rocking your interview! I hope it works out!

I am going to have to make myself take some days off from running. Although my knee wasn't hurting that bad last night, this morning I could barely walk. This is definitely the worst is has felt yet. I ended up making an appointment with an orthopedic doctor for next Friday.

I don't think anything is seriously wrong, but I want to make sure everything is okay before I make it worse. So, I will be here cheering ya'll on from the side lines for a few days. Everyone is doing such an awesome job!!

Bonnie - I'm glad you aren't giving up and the MP3 player is working.

Georgia - take care of yourself and heal! Don't overdo it. Right now you need to mend. The C25K will be here when you are better!

Georgia... I hope your knee heals quick. Coming from a chronic knee sufferer, I FEEL your pain. Glad to hear you're going to a specialist. They will fix you up right. Hang in there!

I just finished Day 1 of Week 4, and I DID IT!!! :) - well, sort of (LOL). I did the first 3 intervals (3 min/ 5 min/ 3 min) all ok, although I was sucking wind big time, then the final 5 min interval did me in, but instead of quiting, I did 3 min, walked for 1 min and then did the final 2 min. So I still ran a total of 16 min, and walked 15 min. That's a huge jump from last few weeks where you run no more than 9 min. I always walk a total of at least 30 min, so for the last few weeks its be 9 run and 21 walk. But today I actually ran longer than I walked. I don't think I've done that since I was in grade 7!!!!

OMG, I feel so good. I'm on top of the world. I started the day having an awesome interview and now I made a huge leap with running, and then tonight DH and I sort of have a date. Our son is spending his first night away from us on a camping trip, so once our daughter is in bed (8pm) its date time! Hmmm... extra exercise to log on TDP??? LOL.

Thank you C25K and everyone here for hooking me on running!!!

WTG Kathy! That is a pretty big increase of running time. Sounds like you are getting pretty good! Keep up the good work.

Hope you and DH have a good date night!!!

Kathy - Outstanding!!!! You are on a roll keep it going.

Bonnie - I am so sorry about your ipod; I know it can be replaced, but it is the thought of being violated. Your Ipod was your running buddy. I am glad your got the MP3 player working.

Shoes - I wear Brooks running shoes. I have had surgery on both of my feet and 4 toes; so shoe wear is critical to me. I currently have a nerona on my left foot - but it never seems to bother me when I run. This is my second pair of Brooks - I love them.

You are such challenge friends!!! Thanks, Lynn:wink_smile:

Ughhhh..... I had a bad running night. I have not ran since Monday morning before the EVLT and it showed tonight. I was so mad at myself that I turned around and walked back down my road and tried to run back again. No luck that time either. Ughhh.... At least I got 3 miles in. My DH said not to beat myself up about it, that I am doing great. I guess, I am just bummed that I am not progressing like the rest of you because of the leg thing. Next week will be better.

Georgia, take care of yourself. We will all still be here when you are healed and ready to run.

kathy - Way to go. You are doing great!! Keep it up. Enjoy the "date" tonight.

Sugar - Cut yourself some slack. You did just have a major procedure on both legs. You are doing very well. Just the fact that you are running already is amazing. Think of where you started just a few wekks ago. You are doing great!!

Georgia - how's your leg today?

Hey Les! My knee feels better today. Not 100%, but much better. I think that's a good sign that nothing serious is wrong.

You know, I was thinking....my knee didn't start bothering me until after I switched from running outside to the treadmill. Maybe that has nothing to do with it, but it's just a thought I had. Not really sure which one would be better on the knees???

i finished week 5 mix 3 (20 min run) whew!!! I felt awesome when I was done. If you would have asked me just 5 weeks ago about running for 20 minutes straight I would have said "no freakin way" Even on Wednesday I was thinking "8 minutes was hard enough, no way can I do 20!" but I did! It felt awesome! I am so glad I didn't use my stolen iPod as an excuse to bail out on one of the toughest days!

Everyone here is doing so great. It seems like no matter what happens, we all give it our best try! Whether we complete it, make modifications, had surgery or WHATEVER, we all keep on doing what we can to keep moving. I have never seen such a dedicated group of people! I have been a member of weightloss challenges online before on other forums and they have always been excuse after excuse on why they couldn't or wouldn't exercise or lose weight and lots of cheating on diets. It seemed like we were constantly telling each other "oh its okay, tomorrows a new day, try again" and while we are all human and we will all miss a few days of exercise and we will all eat bad foods occasionally, it seems like we have such a committed group here. I am so proud of everyone here. And if we do screw up, there isn't really a huge pity party here...you DO just move on because there is so much encouragement and everyones motivation becomes your motivation. Thanks to everyone here who has made a difference in my life---and what a difference in less than 2 months of c25k!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
