:smile2:Question for those people who have been banded. (I'm hopefully going for surgery in August if all goes well). Now that you've been banded, even if you are at the beginning of your weight loss, do you still obsess about your weight? Do you think to yourself - well it will be at least 2 months or 4 months or 6 months or whatever until I weigh this amount...or are you just enjoying the process. I hope that I will enjoy the process, and will enjoy the mini-milestones along the way...whether it be fitting into an old pair of jeans, or being able to see my toes (not such a mini-milestone either!) Just curious to know how you all feel about the process!

I still weigh everyday. Before the band I avoided the scales at all cost. But now, b/c i'm looking for that number to fall, I can't help but look. My husband says I'm obsessing. OK maybe, but I have weighed myself everyday while dieting my whole life. Old habits are hard to break.

This should make you laugh. I bought a new scale yesterday and it weighs me about 5 pounds heavier than the old one. So now I have 2 scales that I weigh on each one every morning. OMG! Ridiculous. I'm going to try to let up a bit and go to once a week, maybe twice a week.

Am I enjoying the process? Not really. Weight loss is work. Do I enjoy the progress and mini-successes? You bet. I love fitting into the smaller sizes, crossing my legs, looking down and not seeing my belly hanging out further than my boobs-looking pregnant, those successes. Wouldn't trade those for the world.

It is work, but I'm mostly enjoying the process -- at least during times that I make progress toward goal. :grouphug:

I don't obsess about my weight, but I do set mini-goals to keep myself moving forward. So yes, there is a certain amount of: "if I lose at this rate, what might I weigh in 2 months?" as it helps me set goals.

I wonder if it will be different at goal...then I will probably start setting fitness or sport-related goals instead. (improving running times, or whatever)

Like the others said, it's work but it's nice to know that this work is gonna payoff for a long time vs before when you work and lose it and then gain it all back plus more!

I don't get my first fill until Wednesday, but I can say that it's been alot easier watching my calories now than before when I would watch them and be STARVING TO DEATH!!! :grouphug: I don't starve like that anymore, I get hungry but I don't starve.

It's been almost two weeks since I have been banded. I feel like for once in my life since the age of six that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and hope.

I have always had to work at weight loss and never had a problem loosing but have had a problem keeping it off. No longer am I going to worry about what will happen after all the hard work is done.......I am just going to enjoy the ride.

I no longer want to obsess about weighing myself (I have always been a slow looser), what I am going to eat, what I can or can't wear, I want to be "normal" or whatever normal is for me. As I have heard so much on this site......

I want to eat to live, not live to eat and that my dear is what I am going to do!!!!!

I know exactly what you mean, ToBeFree. Hope.

Physically my body has taken a toll, but mentally it's been far worse. I only wish this had been available to me 15 years ago. I could have lived my life with my head held high. I've done many good things with my life so far, things I'd never take back, but now I intend to live life to my fullest, and I'm so grateful I've been given this new opportunity.

It's really an interesting journey. I feel like a baby learning to eat all over again. Sometimes it sucks - but... having my husband, who loves me no matter what, say "You look smaller" or buying one size smaller clothes, or being able to go on a 2 mile walk with my family is making the ride great!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
