If you are looking for a protein powder

Recommended Posts

I found this website on another board:

https://www.chikenutrition.com

They have half portion samples they will send, but they are $6 or so for S&H. But...if you ask your doctor to call they will send them a LOT of free samples, no charge. I asked my surgeons office to order it for me, and they sent 100 packages of powder. It comes in 5 flavors... chocolate, vanilla, orange, banana, and strawberry. I have not tried it yet (I am waiting til post surgery) The surgeon said it does not have enough Protein to use as a "protein drink" but it will maks a great Meal Replacement post op.

So... if you are looking for something...I woud recommend trying it

wow thats cool! thanks for sharing!

Hi I'm a newbie to this thread and I just happened to notice your comment on a Protein Powder. I too would like to find a good one but I rather check it out first than buy a large amount and hate it. I ordered samples packets on www.unjury.com for about $1.75 each the other day. They even have chicken Soup flavor. I can let you know what my opinion of them is but everyone has their own taste. I thought I'd start taking it even before my surgery as I really need more Protein in my diet anyway. Good Luck finding a good one. Let us know.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
