Hi Desertmom,

If I'm reading your sig right you were just banded a few days ago, right? This is a post-op bloating phase that will indeed pass. Do you have a postop checkup scheduled soon? If it doesn't resolve you might want to talk to your doctor, but I'm sure this is just gas or other post-op healing issues. You'll feel better soon!!

Hi,

The swelling I had, felt like I was pregnant..but it should pass, I'm still a little swollen, but it's getting better all the time.

The nausea, I didn't have...if the nausea doesn't pass I'd call your doctor...they have meds for that and you don't want to get dehydrated.

hi

Thanks for your replies.I dont know what pregnancy feels like (adopted both my girls..) but I feel like I have had the biggest meal ever and that I have had to much to drink...if that makes sense.......

When I lie down it is a lot better.I am managing 40 ounces of Water and one ensure Protein drink a day.Havent had anything else.I feel to stuffed.....

I still have a low grade temprature that gets a bit higher in the evening (100,4)

I had a CBC done with chest x-rays 2 days ago and they are normal.

I also go very cold, but shaking cold at times.

Anyhow,I am sure I might be to active.... but some people are back at work day 4 post-op.I am just a bit scared at the moment because this is a foreign object and I am a woosssss........Never had any operations before.

Thanks for your advice, will update tomorrow.

Desertmom,

I was banded 3 weeks ago and had a terrible time with Nausea. Phenegran didn't help nor did the other medication I paid 30.00 a pill for. What did help was drinking Water. I know you are drinking Water but I bet you are dehydrated like I was. I was drinking about 36oz a day at first but man I got so dehydrated for some reason. I increased the intake and Once I got the water in and got my electrolytes in balance I was 100% better. I know you may feel like you can't drink a lot of watyer but I promise you can if you use a straw and sip on it. Then get yourself some Isopure Protein mix from smoothieking and mix 2 scoops with 12 oz of water. You will get over 50 grams of Protein in the one drink. It goes down Oh so good and I promise you will feel so much better.

Desertmom - It sounds like you are just a little swollen still, but everything sounds normal. If you still feel this way on your next visit with the doctor, discuss it with him. It really does get better every day! :)

just a note on guitarman saying get a straw... my doc and the hospital told me DO NOT drink through a straw for a while since it causes more gas...and if you are at all like i was you are already filled with gas and dont need anymore...

Hi

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your advice and support.

When you dont know what is going on and all eyes on you to carry on with your life as if nothing has happened you start thinking what have I done, what have I done.

But reading all this makes me realize that there is a time of healing that I have to go through and it will get better.

Thank you,I will get the Isopure Protein and I will drink more Water and chill.........

Just by the way,how does the band feel in your stomaches?

Do you feel something "pull" when you breathe out or stretch?

Have a good day all......

hi

Feeling a lot better.Had a good night sleep.Still on my back but what the heck that will also pass.

The nausea is a lot better.

Good news that the "pulling" feeling will get better.

I have just noticed that the Ensure plus instant drink is not really high in Protein at all.High in carbs though. Also pretty high in fat..........I will go and get the Isopure....

Feeling good....hope you all doing the same..

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
