Fill on the 3rd...all of a sudden tighter

Recommended Posts

I got a fill on June 3rd. Felt good but thought I could use a little more. Mty doctor was out of town last week so I set up an appointment for this coming Thursday. All of a sudden yesterday and today I seem to not be able to eat as much, getting more stuff stuck. Is it possible that after 13 days it would tighten??? Anyone else have this happen? I figured I would see how I do tomorrow and Wednesday and then decide if I want to keep the appointment. Any advice would be appreciated....

I had mine filled on June 4th. Three days later, I couldn't eat or drink anything without having pain. I thought at first it was me getting use to the band, but by the following Monday, I was still in pain if I ate or drank anything. I went to my doctor on June 11th to have some removed (1cc), and it really helped.

I would say if you are still experiencing pain by late Tuesday night to have your doc remove 1cc and see if it helps.

By the way, during the week of readjustment (June 4-11), I lost 13 lbs. Some say that may be good, but I was not getting any nutrients from food and I was getting extremely dehydrated. Plus, when I went on June 11, my blood pressure was up due to the pain I was experiencing.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
