a kind of personal question ...

i have good and bad days with food ... it almost seems to cycle through the month and i think i now see a pattern emerging ... i was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same.

I am sure leading up to menstruation that it seems i feel tighter and have more episodes of PB's.

Also too, if i am tired or run down ... and especially if i am stressed the same thing happens.

Does anyone experience the same of similar?

Hi Tracy,

When you say you have good and bad days, are you referring to restriction/tightness, or with your food choices? I think you mean the first, but just wanted to make sure.

It's funny... I never noticed feeling tighter during my period UNTIL last month. I had been filled to 9 cc earlier in the month. That 1 cc made a big difference. I couldn't get food down and I had chest pain. I couldn't experience that every month, so my doctor removed the 1 cc, and now I'm at 8 cc again. I'm a little disappointed because that extra 1 cc made a good difference the remaining weeks of the month. I admit all of my choices aren't the best choices.

I've never noticed more restriction during periods of feeling run down or tired. I'll have to pay closer attention to this. Stress is a possibility for me. I was under tremendous stress during my last period, which was the ordeal I explained above. As soon as my doctor removed that 1 cc, the chest pain subsided.

Just make sure this isn't happening to you too frequently. Living with a band that's too tight could lead to a complication.

no, it is not too tight. i see my surgeon regularly and he is quite happy where it is at.

you were quite correct in your assumption, i as making reference to tightness/restriction ... not food choices. My food choices are quite limited now as i can not tolerate meat for the most part, bread ... all the usuals. Again the food types that came with no surprise to the surgeon or myself for that matter.

i have only had two fills, i am at about 4.5 or 5 ... something like that ... not sure to be honest. i am certainly not looking for another fill, i have been at this since feb ... so if i think i was too tight it would have become evident before now.

i will discuss it with my surgeon today anyways ...

thanks

Hi Tracy, I'm on my second fill (I'll be getting my 3rd on Wed) and I've noticed that I've more restriction in the last few days then ever and my period just started today. Not pbing (haven't done that) but I've gone from wide open or feeling like it anyway to a nicer amount of restriction. But it comes and goes so who knows if its associated with the TOM or just coincidence?

The few days before my period are the only times I ever PB. It happened on Saturday, its always my trigger to think "4 weeks already?" and sure enough, on Monday AF arrived.

2-days Pre-men, I get pretty tight, where I choke on my teeny tiny medicines. And I also want to eat like a cow during this time. Kind of a blessing in disguise

I think I am always stressed, so I see no fluctuation due to stress since I don't know what it's like.. not-stressed.

I just posted this same topic in my monthly group. Since my last fill last month I've def hit my sweet spot! Then out of nowhere I got MAJOR restriction and had my first PB'ing episode. It dawned on me that AF is about to start. I've gone on mushies and liquids for the last couple of days and everything seems fine, but LORDY I am tight!! Like Laura said, it's kind of a blessing in disguise.

yes agreed ... it is a blessing in disguse!! IT used to be the time of the month i put weight on ... now ... it is when i lose the most ... just to the fact eating is so ... challenging!!

i do think i am at my sweet spot though ... i am losing about 1kg (2.2pounds) per week ... perhaps a touch more ... it is all sweet otherwise!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
