Only 90 Pounds to Go!

Recommended Posts

I can't believe I'm saying that! I started out 141 pounds above my goal weight and it seemed it would take forever to reach it.

Well, here I am, 3 months after the official (when I actually started dieting for pre-op) and I've lost over 50 pounds!

It sure makes my goal of losing 141 pounds seem a lot more achievable.

It's a lot more than just the LapBand™, it's a change in attitude and lifestyle. I was worried at first that I would miss eating large amounts of food because I really do enjoy eating a lot.

I have found that I really don't miss eating big meals because now I enjoy eating, a lot.

What a difference a little comma can make!

I can still eat some steak or pork chops, just not as much and I have to eat it a lot slower (PB's are no fun), so I enjoy every bite instead of enjoying a lot of bites.

I'm not a complete convert though. I still cheat once in a while (in that way I don't feel so deprived) with a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard™.

I get both of my absolute favorite dieter's failings in one fell swoop!

It really is possible to have your cake (or in my case, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard™) and eat it too!

Hey!

We had almost the same amount to lose. I had 143. I'm almost halfway to goal. Isn't it amazing the things we can do with the band as a tool? I love it! Congrats on your big milestone.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
