Are any of you also in a small branch? We are pretty few and far between here. We have multiple callings for the most part. It's taken me a while to get used to that. How can I be the Primary President, Choir Director and the Activities Director? Well, as long as I'm not trying to do two things at the same time, it works out.

I am in a good sized ward, but I feel like no one really cares about my hubby and I. Well, besides the Bishop and RS Pres. I do have a VT that was really good about coming over, but I haven't seen her in a couple of months now. But to be fair not many people know us because we can't usually stay the whole time. Hubby has really bad chronic knee problems and cannot sit on the church chairs for very long. Sometimes we even sit out on the couches to see if it is more comfy for him. I have thought and prayed a lot about what to do and I feel that my place is to help my husband not feel too bad about leaving church early. Also we visit in his parents ward and try to keep his younger brothers going to church. We've discussed all this with Bishop and he knows everything about our situation. He has knee problems too and his knees are about halfway to where my husbands are and he is at least 30 yrs younger than Bishop!

Wow, just realized that was a lot to say that I am not in a small branch. I do prefer them, because people do know you and care. Anyway, guess I just needed to let some of this out so I could remind myself that we are doing ok.

We're not in a branch, but we are in a smaller sized ward. I have two callings, but neither of them take very much time. It seems like the responsibility falls on the shoulders of a few people and not evenly spread out there. There are some people who don't have any callings.

I moved in December and now I'm in a smallish ward. We share our building with two other wards, which makes it feel like a larger ward than it is. The boundaries changed last summer since we're growing pretty fast, and things are still getting organized. I was just called to be in charge of the monthly enrichment meeting, so if anyone has any good ideas for activities, I'd love to hear them!

I love working in Relief Society. Right now I'm in Primary which is great too.

I'm curious, the HFPE program was changed just over two years ago and the meetings were changed from being held monthly to being held quarterly. The new program also includes smaller groups, or mini classes who are supposed to be meeting more frequently, hopefully meeting the needs of more sisters. Is your ward doing their program this way?

I was surprised when I moved here to Kansas and found that they were still doing it the old way, more than a year after the change had been made. If your ward isn't doing it the new way, maybe you could read up on it and try to let the leaders know how it should be done.

I totally understand. I moved to CA 5 yrs. ago when my hubby and I married. I came from the southeast where I'd been in wards & branches since I joined the church 20 yrs. ago. I also served a mission in eastern Canada. WHAT a difference.... I could be gone for a month and no one would ever notice. Back east if I was gone 1 or 2 Sunday's I'd get a friendly call to make sure I was ok, here...ZIP.

As for me, I'm in a good sized ward. I miss the homey-ness of the folks back east. Oh well, I know it's true, that's what keeps me going! :P

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
