My Third Fill...finally good restriction...

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I just had my third fill yesterday and now have 3.7 cc's in my 10cc band.

I have awesome restriction. I'm still going liquids today and plan on trying yogurt for dinner.

I'm curious about how many cc's everyone has, what fill they are on and if they are now losing faster since finding the 'Sweet Spot'?

I'm really hoping that I have my restriction now. My Doctor said he was a bit more aggressive tis time giving me 1.5 cc's. He told me not to eat bread or meat for a while after returning to real food after going through the stages again. And that if I have problems keeping anything down to go back to liquids and then onto the other stages until I can tolerate regular food.< /p>

Thank you all for your help. You all are doing so well...I have felt like I'm been stuck in limbo....I go back in 4 weeks... I'm hoping for a HUGE LOSS at that time.

I had my band done on May 23rd and I haven't had my first fill yet and I am NOT losing weight!!! I get my first fill on july 9th and for 2 weeks now I haven't lost any weight at all. Of course I don't feel restricted so I can eat more than I should but I don't. DOes anyone else have this problem? When i get my first fill will I notice it?

Seems to take 3-4 fills to get good restriction, sometimes more. Just keep eating the way they tell you and you'll lose weight. At least until you hit the dreaded plateaus.

Congrats on getting restriction finally!!

I have 4.25 cc in my 10 cc band and I have very good restriction, definitely at my sweet spot. It has been a few days more than 6 weeks since my fill and I have lost 22 pounds which includes a week of vacation and indulgences.

Hope this one has gotten you to that sweet spot!!

I have 6 ccs in my 10 cc band. I have good restriction and have to remember to chew my food very well. I had to have port replaced...long story...and was able to eat anything and with bigger bites...I am now back at the beginning stage of remember to take a pea size bite and chew chew and chew. This week so far I have lost 4 pounds. I am just glad to get back to the losing side again.

3 fills and a 10cc band, I have 3.2cc.

It's been working well! Thank goodness because I'd been dealing with some hunger between meals and felt like I could eat too much. Since though my meals are small and I haven't felt hungry since!

I have had 2 fills. I have 5cc's in a 10cc band. I'm not sure I'm at my sweet spot yet, but I'm darn close. I didn't feel restriction with the first fill, but I felt it immediately with the 2nd one. They put in 2cc's when I had surgery, I got 2cc's on my first fill, and 1cc on this last one.

I have 5cc in a 10cc band. I had 5.5cc but was too tight and had to have 0.5cc removed. I'm hoping I continue to do well. 58.5 lbs lost since 2/7/08 banding. woohoo

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
