What size is your band?

LOL_Thanks Lynn- So what does a 4cc band hold? the same ? Are they actually both the same band just people calling them different names?

same band. One is talking about it's size (10cm) and one is talking about it's capacity (4ccs)

It's like saying I have a large gas tank on my car. I can also say my gas tank holds 14 gallons. Same thing -- just a different way of talking about it.

I have the Inamed 10cm with 4cc capacity. There are 3 sizes of Inamed bands...9.75cm (4cc capacity), 10cm (4cc capacity) and the VG which is approx. 11cm (10cc capacity). One is not better or more beneficial than the other...there are different sizes to accommodate different sizes of anatomy. There is no benefit of having the VG if it's too big for your stomach, for example...a person in that situation would have a very hard time getting enough restriction...and a person for whom the 9.75cm was too small would have a hard time eating properly because they'd be way too tight.

The surgeon should have the various sizes available at the time of the surgery and place the one best suited to that particular patient...

well come on down little filly and we'll set you up. although I wasn 't aware of the ratio bing that skewed. WOW!!!!!!!!!!! 2 to 1 huh? well I said I was going to quite smoking and get divorced when I turned 40 but looks like I better keep her with the ratio that wide. I told her when SHE turned 40 I was going to trade her in for two 20 year olds. She laughed and said I wasn't wired for 220. OI!!!! Anyway it's cheaper to keep her and I reckon I still love her more than anything on this earth.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
