Any one scheduled for June 27th???

Recommended Posts

Despite my weight, I'm fairly active. I golf, bowl, garden, travel - and photography and scrapbooking are my hobbies. I can hardly wait to loose the weight to make all of that easier. I'm also the team captain for our company MS150 bike team - next year my goal is to RIDE the event rather than just organize it. It's a 180 mile Houston to Austin trek.

He had us order online this Bariatric Advantage shake that he wants us to do for the two weeks. We'll I tried one and I'm not real sure how I'm gonna only drink those for 2 weeks. They are nasty, and I hate that I spent 140.00 on them. But I'll do what I need to do for the surgery, and I sure will be losing some weight drinking only these shakes.< /p>

I am looking for anyone who is scheduled for 6/27 that wants a buddy to go through the surgery with...

I have to start my pre-op on 6/13 and would love to bounce ideas and suggestions off someone who is going through it with me....

Hi Onnie67. I, too, am scheduled on Friday, 6/27! I would LOVE to have some online buddies to go through this process together! I'm nervous about it but just went through a 5 hour education class through the Bariatric Center and it put a lot of my fears at ease. Still anxious about it though. I've never had any type of surgery before! TTYS!:P

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
