Wow glad I read.

Hi guys

I haven't posted or browsed the forum for a while and I'm sure glad I did.

I was wondering why my band wasn't working and frustrated that I had gained 2lbs.

Now after reading other posts I see its not only me and that I had started slipping back into old eating patterns namely grazing.

I have had a 3rd fill ( total 3cc in 4cc band) and now I back on the wagon.

I'm so proud of the weight losses of the FEBsters.

I think we all agree it's a work in progress!! Some days are better than others. For me personally, I have loved having this band as a tool. I stay on track during the week and allow myself to enjoy what I want (within reason) on the weekends. Having proper restriction is KEY. I just reached that a few weeks ago and it's made a big difference. Congratulations on your success so far (especially being in ONDERLAND). And as us Double V's have come to adopt our little mantra..."JUST KEEP SWIMMING"!!

That is great! Never lose faith in yourself. I sometimes feel like every pound is such a struggle and other times I feel like this is just too damn easy. Never a dull moment with band life. Glad you are back on track!

Yep. Just Keep Swimming.

Your doing great. Grazer is easy to slip into, but if our wills are strong, it's just as easy to stop. Keep up the great work.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
