Has anyone not gotten a fill yet?

Recommended Posts

On monday I went in for a fill. Well honestly I am still losing weight and I am not hungry all the time. They told me to come back in three weeks. Anyone else have not gotten a fill yet?

Not yet - I'm still waiting for my port revision. Hopefully will have it done with the fill on Friday.

I get my fill on 6/24. I was banded on 5/22. I was just telling my mom about 5 minutes ago I am curious to see how I react. I don’t feel like much has changed. Yes I do get full quicker, but I haven’t had the feeling like something is unable to go down (I am NOT wishing for this by any means). I am still on my mushies, and lost 11 pounds the first week after surgery. Since I started my mushies I have lost nothing! I was so scared to get off my liquid diet, thinking this would happen. I am VERY grateful for what I have lost, and I hope this continues...

Bottom line...I can’t wait till my fill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there! This thread caught my attention so I'm checking in...banded on April 7, 2008 and I've just had my second fill (yesterday). I felt some tightness/restriction for a day or 2 after my first fill, then nothing. So..I saw the dietician yesterday and asked if it was too soon to have more and was given another 1cc. They like to wait at least 14 days between fills and my next fill won't be for another 3 weeks (if needed). Since my dr requires full liquids for 24 hours then mushies for 24 hours, I don't really know if there's a difference yet. I have, unfortunately, experienced PB'ing (prior to second fill) and this episode taught me not to wait too long between 'meals' and, of course, emphasized the 'chew chew chew' as well as slow down eating behaviors. It's hard to imagine the PB/frothing until you've experienced it yourself is all I can say.

I was banded April 22 and got my first fill Wednesday. I had restriction right away and it only started to fade away the last few days before the fill. I could have gotten a fill 2 weeks earlier but like you, I just didn't need it.

The nurse at my surgeon's office has the motto, "Ride it until the wheels fall off!" Ie, don't get a fill if you don't need it! If what you have is working for you, go for it!

I was banded April 23, 2008 and have not had a fill yet. Im scheduled for June 25th. I have not gained or lost since surgery. I lost 22lbs during my liquid pre-op phase. Ive done so-so on exercise. Id love to be addicted to exercise like some people are, but I haven't enjoyed it that much yet. I have had difficulty with bread though. I just cannot tolerate it. But lower carb is better for me anyway.

I was banded April 8 and had my first fill on May 19. I have a 10cc band that had 4cc's from the beginning and on May 19 I received an additional 1cc. I felt a little restriction right after but it did not really last. I don't feel any restriction right now and even though, I've lost more weight, I would like to get a message from my band when I eat.

My next appointment is June 24 and I hope to get 1cc more. We will see what happens.

Hi,

I was banded April 4th and I have never had a fill. I have the realize band and had a lot of swelling initially. However, even now I feel like I am having enough restriction to keep me happy. Exercise is the key. I alternate 3 days of swimming with 3 days of cardio/weights. Helps keep the appetite suppressed. Good luck everyone for lots of weight loss success!!

I was banded 4/28 and have not gotten a fill yet either. When I returned for the fill appt. the doc said that has long as weight was coming off at an acceptable rate (1-2 lbs per week), he did not recommend a fill. Oh well! I had 2 ccs in a 10cc band at the time of the surgery.

To this day I still haven't gotten a fill. i am down 43 pounds since being banded April 10th. So neither I or the doctor see a need for a fill.

Wow! Everyone is doing so great. I've had three fills. Third time is the charm for me. I finally feel really good restriction. In fact, I'm having to re-learn what I can and can't eat. It's totally changed since having this last fill. So, I'm here to say it does finally kick in!! Good luck everyone!

I spoke too soon. Less than a week ago, I had a fill. I noticed my weight loss had slacked off and I was getting hungry before I should. I have since taken off about 3lbs.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
