OK, so I'm one month post-op, I think I have been doing good. Haven't had any real issues. During the solid stage I got stuck a couple of times and experienced my first PB and Sliming; once to the point where I threw up. Nothing violent, it just came up. I don't think I have any restriction yet but I definitely know there is something there sometimes. I've lost 14lbs this month due to the post-op diet. My first fill is June 4th and I don't know what to expect. Right now I can eat no problem.

I'd like to hear from anyone else who is one month post-op or anyone really that can tell me if what I've been going through is what you've gone through.

Good Luck To All, :(

BD

Hello! I'm almost 7 weeks post-op and had my first fill today. For the first two weeks (on liquid then mushies) I had no desire to eat. Felt more than satisfied. By end of week three I had gained some water-weight back and since then was able to eat more normally.

What this meant to me was that "they really know what they were talking about."

I had gone to support meetings, lap band class, and a post op class. They all said the same thing - the first 8 weeks are the hardest because of lack of restriction. I thought for sure 'Not me!'

I was wrong.

Now that I see I fell in the same cycle as everybody else I am not (and pretty much was not) discouraged.

Take it slow. This is normal and I understand it'll only get better. After all that is what "they" say.

G'luck!

I'm 6 wks out and I haven't had anything stuck, there's been a couple times I was uncomfortable, but I had eaten more than I should have. Just one time I was eating grits for the first time after surgery and I started to slime a little, but I can eat grits now with no problem....I can pretty much eat anything, it also seems I can eat large amounts of food with no problem. I go see my Dr. 6/5 and hope to get a fill then because I don't have any restriction and still have no control over portions. I am able to choose healthier foods without feeling deprived of anything (except occaisonally I miss that Diet Coke) I keep reading that restriction eventually will happen and that I'll hit a sweet spot and experience the band being the tool it's meant to be. I pray that's true...I don't want this to be another thing that didn't work for me.

Its one month for me too! I just realised it :biggrin2:.

I do not get my first fill until june 17 & I need it! Besides having scars on my stomach, I do not feel any different, although I do eat alot less.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
