Good goin' on the shopping, girls. Cute purses and shoes. Also, nice photos of both of you.

Janet...my doc recommended the weights and the size of the weight. I do eat some kind of form of Protein every two to three hours throughout the day. I have at least six meals a day and each one includes protein.

I only do my treadmill a couple times a week or when I want to relieve some stress. During weight loss stage I was doing 5-6 times a week and walking 3-4 miles at a 20% incline. Doc only wants me to do light workouts.

My metabolism was pretty good till I hit menopause at the age of 38. Had tests done about a year ago and pretty much done and they think my metabolism kicked into the way it was b/4 menopause. I used to be fairly thin and could diet and lose on about 2500 cals a day (b/4 the age of 38)

Spent most of the evening at the apt with "mom's" daughter. Sorted, etc. and will be back there early in the morning and most of the day tomorrow and Sunday. Most likely will not be checking in...just so you know.

Have a great weekend.

Yep you are one lucky girl - But to build the muscle you are going to have to eat more calories so that you can do the exercise needed to build the muscles and since your metabolism is in overdrive and you already eat every couple of hours - you are going to have to eat even more !! Which I don't know where you are going to find the time to eat more..

You would have to eat every 1/2 lol !!!

OMG your Mom's house must have been packed to the gills - you have been packing for the last week..

I keep thinking today is Saturday - I still have 2 day off !!!

Andrew just asked me if I wanted to go to the show tomorrow - SHOCKED:eek:... Of course I said yes - I was planning on cleaning - but that can wait - My GS wants to hang with his old Grandma !!!

So Eva if there's dust in your room you will understand

JK - I am an earlier riser - he's a teenager (you know they can sleep 24/7) so I will still get my chores done :cool2:

This Morning on Good Morning Amercia - they are talking about fatty/sweet/salty foods being just like heroin - OMG - I could have told them that !! That's news confused.gif - Us fatties already knew that - But I guess maybe the rest of the world doesn't and it will help the world understand why we have so much obesity...

Melissa - I just budget my calories so that I can eat 2 fudgesicles or 2 sf pudding cups when those times arises where one isn't enough. There are times I can't do just one - and others I am fine with one..

You are eating sliders - and as we all know - band doesn't protect us from those food.< /p>

I go through spurts where I want sweets - but I don't have them in the house so I can only eat the sf stuff - or my sherbet - but I haven't had that in ages..

Talk to the family - ask for their help - I didn't listen to how to fix it (on gma this morning) - I was on the computer and just heard the news bite part..

I know the Dr said to stay between 800-1000cals and very and you sent me what you ate at that time but it seems so little any chance you can send it to me again and I will put it on my fridge this time.

Also if you are wondering I changed my picture because I am really into the tree of life and it's meaning

I did watch that GMA segment after you posted about it. I always record GMA, but usually delete without watching! I usually do okay with sweets.... okay, forget what I told you about Wed. night and the cookies/brownie and milk! I guess, truth be told, I do fine because there's nothing here! I do have my 60 calorie puddings, and I'm always satisfied with just one, or fudgcicles when we have them. But Cookies, I would not do well with so good thing we just don't buy them. My current problem is sticking to one small glass of wine becaue I always want a 2nd. We're both going to work on that this week!

LOL LOL :thumbup::lol::cool2::lol:

That was too funny - Yep it's best not to have the stuff in the house. Since I don't drink at home it's not a problem - but like yesterday w/you & DH - I like to drink socially and well when I go out honky tonking well - watch out - I end up polluted - lucky I have my DD Debbie...

Good evening! I couldn't get this site to open for almost 24 hours. Talk about withdrawal! Looks like it was just me though as there were lots of posts to catch up on.

Glad the coupon worked for you Janet and Phyl. I wondered if after they scanned my when I used it if it blocked it in the system or something. I am jealous as I'd love another one, but it is another addiction of mine. popcorn, Fritos, and Coach purses! LOL I could probably add Ann Taylor Loft to the list now.

Speaking of the Loft, DH wanted me to show him things there I wanted for Christmas today! Can't wait. Told him if he couldn't remember a gift card would be just fine.

I walked a whole mall today without pain pills and did quite well. It will be 6 weeks on Monday and I think I am doing pretty good. Might either go to 1X week for therapy this week or stop it, will check with the knee doc on Wed.

We are getting snow tonight, supposed to turn heavy overnight. Hope it's not bad in the morning. DD's wedding dress came in and we are going in tomorrow for her to try it on and be sure it fits and all. Should be fun.

Great - I had a problem w/lbt a while ago it wouldn't load - but when I got back on it loaded.. It does that sometimes.

I love Ann Taylor Loft too.. Chico's too..

How exciting about you DD wedding dress !!!

We are cooling off suppose to be in the 70's all week - lows 50's

Here's my closet

Do you think I have enough clothes & shoes

I don't have many winter dresses

I really now need to go Iron the stuff that's in there - it would make getting dressed in the morning a little easier..

But I'm not that energetic !!! I think I need a closet makeover - like some double racks - then I can fit some more clothes in there :lol::w00t:

Don't ask me why I have so many jeans - we can only wear blue jeans on Friday's .. And now that's been cut by 2 :cool2:

With all those clothes - I still go in there every morning and say I don't have anything to wear :thumbup::tt2:

Ok it will only let me up load 5 pic's at a time

Janet, I got closet envy in all your clothes. DH put in some ccloset organizers for me when we moved in, I love it. We just went to Home Depot and put in the 'tower' which is some shelves and you can add drawers and then double bars. It is very basic and was cheap, the brand was Closet Maid, maybe Andrew could put them in for you. I am still chicken to try skirts or dresses. Haven't worn one in decades. I will wear one of course for my daughters wedding but actually looked at a gray flannel skirt in Loft today but didn't even try it on. I have major issues with my large calves.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
