Hi girls,............... I'm going for 6:18......... the day I met DH.... Good luck Arlene..... I'm sure you are so anxious.... Let's all just pray for a wonderful healthy baby and momma....... and gramma....

Welcome home Apples.... Yes, we'll be on the way tomorrow morning about 8:00..... will stop in Fargo first for lunch and then on the Monticello, suburb of Mpls.... where our friends' daughter lives... have to stop and visit their little 2 year old..... have supper and then on to Rochester... hope to be to the hotel by 8:00 ish...... My appointment is at 8:00 am at mayo clinic... My friend's appt is at 9:30 at St Mary's hospital..... We have reserved rooms for that night, too, as we have no idea how long we will be there or what they may do for me......I'll try to call someone to let you know how things are going if I am able.... I'm getting a bit nervous..... Afraid I'll hear the same old story............ nothing we can do for you!!!!! I'll be going nuts if that happens.... Last night was so bad again... Up still at 5:00...... the pain just won't quit.... Now I'm groggy and feel like crap.... Stomach is hurting some and I have a headache.....I guess we'll soon find out what's up and I'll have to deal with it whatever it is....

Linda, so pleased for your family that Katie is better..

continued prayers for a speedy recovery.... so nice of you to do the baking....

Cheri, sounds like a wonderful weekend.... refreshed for the new week...

Janet, wow, you look like a knock-out.... glad you had a good time... Things with Andrew seem to be settling down now... everyone is accepting the new situation...

Eva, have a safe week.... and watch out for those rocks... they will be hell on the back....

Lori, what was that attack you had yesterday? Just a headache or is something else up.... Hope you are much better today...

Joyce, you take care of those knees..... wish I could do the Water with you.......

Laura, suppose your parents are on their way home again.. So wonderful they could come even if dad did have a rough time... It's so good for Nelson..... have a safe week now...

the rest of you gals all have a great week......

I need to go finish frosting some Cookies I baked on Saturday..... Just couldn't get into it, but now must get them into the freezer before we leave.... I have a load of whites in the washer and then need to pack our bags... DH is getting the car ready.... and I need to see my Mimi before the day is out..... I will miss her so when I'm away from her..... Bailey won't be home til 9:00 tonight so probably won't get to see her... she goes with her dad to her grandma for the day while he works and then he picks her up again.....

Anyway, thank you all for seeing me through all these hard times... I'm so counting on this being my saving grace and I know you all are praying for me to find a solution..... I love you all so much and treasure your friendship....... Can't wait for Vegas and so hope I will be some better by then.... Take care... Hugs and prayers................. Julie

Oh I forgot about that - Well I still may win ;0)... 2 hr diff - so 1:29 my time is 3:29 your time ;0)

Good pick! I may have to swim to see the baby.....you have heard the saying "Raining Cats and Dogs"......I think it is raining Labs and German Shepherds. We are under a flash flood warning.

I got DGD down for a nap. She usually sleeps two hours. Now, back to crocheting that dang baby blanket.

Apples, my daughter won't let me come in anyway. She doesn't like visits while in labor. I was like that....so I respect their time together. We live about 25 minutes from the hospital.....well, we do when the sun is shining. I'll report in when I get another text from SIL.

DD just text me.....she has epidural in and is still a 4, but stretchy....asked me what that meant.....H ! I don't know. I haven't had a baby in 34 years. Must be a newer term.

It's not raining dogs anymore....just cats.

Oh, Julie.......Prayers and HUGS for you. Something is in a bind in your body. They will find it. Have a safe trip!

Whoever wins ........I will buy them a drink in Vegas!

Apples is the next one on the list at 4:23. I haven't heard from my SIL. Maybe she is pushing by now. I don't want him to get a text at such a crucial time. I am getting DGD ready to go see her new sister. I got out her "Big Sister" shirt and her new pink polka dot bow. I tried putting her hair up, but it is so curly and fine. It will probably be out of the band by the time we get there. CBL when I hear something.

OK...don't know where my text went to so I will start over. Don't think I'm crazy if half of one shows up.

Off to a wake and then heading north to the lake. Dog and I should get there about 9. Just enough time to finish my book and get some good sleep. I always sleep so good at the lake.

Julie...safe trip and some results for you is what I am wishing. Would someone text me when you hear something? Thanks.

Arlene...happy healthy baby before the sun sets. Can I get one of those fancy umbrellas in my drink please??????

You all have a good one. Sending the love.

Hi guys.

Crazy day today. I am overscheduled with students but I don't see how to schedule them any other way. I have a student coming shortly to my house. He is a former student from RCS now in highschool. Mildly Mentally Impaired. Mom called this summer to see if I'd tutor him. She wants to keep it up over the school year. Tues. is the only night he's free and I'm free. Ran into someone else who found out what I do and wants me to tutor privately. Might try to do her Saturday mornings. Right now I'm thinking I'm nuts. However, I'd just spend the time watching TV and being on the computer, so an hour tonight and an hour from my Saturday aren't that much.

Gotta go.

Arlene - I hope everything is going well with the delivery.

So alot with me this weekend. I took my son a went to see my long time friend in NC on Labor Day. She lives in Waynesville which is roughly 2 1/2 hrs from. She lives a very simply life. Meaning her and her husband have one car she home schools and really just have the basics to live nothing really extravagant. That is something they decided to do a long time ago. Everyone is in good health so the have blue cross as an isurance plan they bought a very long time ago. She kind of lives in the mountains and has a couple of chickens which are cool to hold (only cause I have never held on before).

Makes you want to get rid of the material things an live on one income but with my health issues I can't cause we would never get a health policy because of my diabetes and other health issues. Right now I have to start payiong $1301.00 a month to keep cobra it is going to hurt us bad. I carry the insurance cause my DH is self employed. I have thought about not keeping it but our luck a medical procedure would be needed and then what more money owed.

I was searching through my old medical paper work and realized something. I always thought I never weighed less than 200 pounds after I had my son in 95. But I am happy to say I have in 11/18/98 I weighed 192 and then in 03/11/99 I weighed 189, Last I found was 1/18/2000 I weighed 194.

I thought well i guess I can do this after all. It is amazing how much your mind can trick you into thinking things.

On the job hunting front nothing is happening everyone wants you to apply only and not come in there office. So tomorrow I am going to the retail places and go an inquire about my pending resumes.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
