July 1st 08 to be banded

Recommended Posts

I am new here. Getting my band July 1 08. I am nervous about being able to follow the liquid diet before surgery. If I was able to follow such strict rules I would not be here now. How do I stick to it? Also, how does everyone get those weight loss tickers on the screen? and the cute pictures?

Hi, and congrats on the surgery date!! I'm sure you are super-excited and a bit nervous, but trust me, there is absolutely nothing to be nervous about. There are a ton of people on here to help guide you through the entire process.

Regarding post-op care and diet: the main thing to remember is Protein, Protein, protein! Make sure you stock up on 100% whey Protein powder - my personal faves are Body Fortress chocolate and Optimum Nutrition Gold Double chocolate.< /p>

Keep up the good work and keep us updated!

-Shannon

I am worried about the pre-op diet also, but we can do it! We just need to stick together and know that it will come to pass!

My surgery date is July 1st too. I am nervous and excited as well. I find myself flip flopping daily (should I do it / shouldn't I do it)???

My surgeon doesn't require a pre-surgery diet per say. I have been on the "6 month" diet now as part of the insurance approval process. So many on this board have to do a liquid diet prior, I wonder if that is better?

Hi I am new and also have a July 1st date. I am excited but started to get super nervous/anxiety. I am worried I am making a very expensive (no insurance coverage) mistake. I actually watched the surgery on You Tube and thinking it would help to be prepared and I think it just made me feel more nervous. Also is anyone else a vegitarian? I am finding this Protein thing a little tough. I don't eat meat, eggs, fish, or some dairy.... I am on my 2 week pre diet and pmsing and feeling like I just want to call the whole thing off. I meet with my surgeon on Tues and pay the full amount...is it worth going in debt for? Am I making the right decision? Am I really ready for all that is ahead? Anyone else feel, felt this way?

I understand the being nervous jonesie. Lucky for me my insurance is paying a portion of the surgery. I'm still very scared and I go back and forth also. My surgery is July 24th. I have no stomach problems at all and I get scared when I read that some people throw up. I hope you will email me and keep me informed about your journey. Also, I would still love for someone to tell me how to get the tickler weight chart on my profile.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
