OK I"m freaking out that my band has slipped. I don't even know if it's possible to have a slip this early and w/out a fill. Everything has been FINE up til now. Since yesterday, I feel very AWARE of my stomach. It came on all of a sudden. I'm getting full really quickly, feel very bloated after I eat, almost painful bloating. I know I'm not eating too much, and if I was eating too fast, I would think I might be in some discomfort but it wouldn't last this long????? And I feel like something is squeezing down on my stomach and it's creating a lump in my throat, I can drink Water and liquids fine, but as it goes down, it makes me really bloated after only a few sips. I can't tell if this is like indigestion, or reflux, my reflux feels like a heart attack. I don't know whether or not to call, I don't feel like it's an emergency, just really feels weird and kinda uncomfortable. I didn't have anything yesterday that would warrant a slip, the only thing I can think of is that I haven't been chewing as weel as I know I should be. But I don't have a fill, and have become a little lazy, can anyone please help?? Just freaking out here a bit....

at 4 1/2 weeks you should only be on liquids

She should only be on liquids if her doctor told her that she should be on liquids. At four weeks I will still be on mushy foods.

I would call your doctor and explain the situation. My doctor told me that I could start on mushie foods this week...and I had a similiar feeling. I went back to full liquids/puree because i didn't think that i was ready.

Alihoop - every doctors guidelines are different - by 4.5 weeks I was back on solid foods with doctors blessing.

Time2bandme..... Sweetie, clearly you are distressed - that in itself is enough reason to call your doctor- listen to your body, and take care of it. Hope you are feeling better soon.

well this sounds normal, your stomach is still healing and sometimes it takes longer for some to heal. Thats why the Dr. gives you the post op diet to follow because though I may be able to eat something, you might not. Nobody can really tell, you just take it slow and make a mental note of what causes discomfort. Im about 7wks out and some things bother me still, and I had a fill a week ago. The fill really hasnt done much. I dont feel any differnt. I dont eat as much still, but I still havent lost any more weight. I think that this is so a hit or miss thing that everyone will be differnt... But if you are in pain to much!!!! Please call the DR. Be Safe

Same here -- every doctor is different. I was on full liquids the first week, mushies the 2nd week, and all food starting week 3. I'm on day 2 of mushies and it's going well.

Time2band me, I agree with those who are suggesting you call your doctor. We're not doctors here, and your doctor has already been paid to be there for you!

It sounds to me like it's a swelling+chewing issue. You could try going on mushies and Soups for a day or two then go back to solids but start paying very close attention to your bites, chewing and time between bites! Sounds like you've irritated your stoma. If it persists even after the fluids and mushies, call your doctor Tuesday. If the fluids and mushies are not helping, by all means call your doctor!

Try Gas-x for the bloating and see if that helps.

I'm sorry, but feeling the way you are , CALL YOUR DR. you paid how much to have his care, and we are right, we are not Dr's, what is the worst thing they can say, do a-b-c and call back on tuesday, My Dr encourages us to call them first, he knows we use these sites for advice and support but tells us, that is why we have him for these things first.A good Dr will be happy you called. Don't wait til Tuesday, if he isn't available, he has an answering service that can direct you to the next step, an er, his office in the morning, etc. Take care of yourself. Knowing is better than guessing and taking the wrong the steps.

As many others have said, every Dr is different. I had liq 72 hrs, mushie 4 wks then solids and I am doing great, losing weight, feel fine, but that is me, you may have an entirely different situation, health issues, port location etc,.. We all want the best for you, so call your Dr first, we can help best by directing there first. Good luck, sweetie. You'll be fine. Sugrbear

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
