What would you do???

Recommended Posts

I am being banded on May 31st, in Mexico. In preparation, I am converting a storage shed I have to a personal home gym. Since I am limited on space, I am having to decided which 2 pieces of equipment I want to put in my room...I have a friend who is wanting to sell her bowflex, and I am pretty sure that i am going to place it in my little room for sure...I have enough room that I can either put a treadmill in there or a stationary bike, but not both. What would you do? Maybe there is something else I should be considering? Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I guess that depends on what you think you will actually use. Personally, I would get the treadmill because it's versatile--you can walk on it, run, do intervals. And the treadmill keeps you going at the pace you punch in--you can't gradually slow down as you get tired like you can on a bike or elliptical.

But some people hate treadmills. And if you think you'd actually USE the bike more than the treadmill, that's what I'd get.

How cool that you are going to have your own home gym! That is awesome. Between your cardio machine and the bowflex, you should be set for a while!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
