Hang in there gone 4 ever. You can do this. Keep up the good work. Yes, it was hard but it is well worth the efforts. Good Luck!!!

Absolutely. But screwing up feels - and is - much much worse - I know. Keep on track and don't lose sight of your reasons for doing this. You can find your strength. It's there.

It gets a whole lot better. Trust me!! During the first two weeks after my surgery I was thinking about food all of the time. This was before I could start eating pureed food. I was reading cookbooks like the newspaper. But then those feelings went away just like that. They come and go at times. But don't give in to them. The benefits are so much better. My 25lb loss in the 1st 4 weeks was great!!!!!!!!!!!!! hang in there!

No Bandster yet has died from a little hunger, although lots of us weren't so sure in the beginning.

Courage!

The Protein Shakes should help. It is tough, because you just get to the point where you want to chew something. But, you can get through this, it will be worth it to make sure your band heals properly.

I once upon a time regarded 'eating' as a salvation to my turmoils and a balm to my tortured psyche.

In reality, eating ALWAYS became overeating, in the same way substance abuse consumes our souls.

I hope you can find the strength to follow your program and attain your goals.

No Bandster yet has died from a little hunger, although lots of us weren't so sure in the beginning.

Courage!

well put, Jack!!!

I had mine done in 12/10/07 and my first 4weeks was hell.I was mad at every one.It was x-mas,our annv.,new years all in one but to keep from paying my deductable for the new year I had to have it done.I hated that everyone was eating things I wanted.I was a real crab.It does go away, and so do the pounds.although I haven't been watching what I have been eating and I have not lost any more.from 217 to 192.I have to get back on it....well I typed enough good luck,Kim:thumbup:

actually I have been told by the nutritionist that this is very common

your band is not that small right now so its normal for us to be hungry

once you start soft foods you will feel better

also keep reminding yourself you have not given up food you will be eating everything you want withing a few weeks, sometimes we have to change our thinking on food so we dont feel deprived and then agitated> once you get to soft foods you will feel more satisfied hope this helps heidi

No you are not! I had my second fill today and I'd kill for REAL food..I have to have liquids for 2 days and then mushies for 3-7 days..But even on the days I can eat, If I am bored(I am a stay at home mom, caring for my disabled 21 year old son) I am on the rampage looking to eat..Usually right choices but some days are harder than others too..

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
