Begnin PVC'S/Arrhythmia

Recommended Posts

Hello all!

I was recently diagnosed with frequent, yet benign PVC's. They've decided not to put me on meds because they're more of a health risk than the arrhythmia itself (!?!?!?!) I don't have my pre-op consult for two more weeks, and I am DYING to know if this will effect my eligability for banding. Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks in advance, bandsters!!!!

Benign PVCs are common ( ever noticed that they are worse during TOM...mine are)... and I would be very surprised if they caused any concern about with repect to getting a band..

i dont want to tell you not worry BUT ......When you go for your pre-op test tell them......... MAKE SURE IT IS DOCUMENTED ON YOUR PRE-OP CHART!!!!! IF its not documented then you dont have it !!!! reguardless if your primary doctor is awhere... that being said many people have pvc's and dont even know it !!!! if you ever heard someone saying i am having heart palpitations ? it could be the same thing ...many women get them when under distress.........

if they do not want to medicate you then they must be under a certain number per minute .. I am a nurse not a cardiac one but from what i remember ..if you need to be medicated you are having more than 6 of them per minute .... so i take it yours are less and then the meds would be more trouble then they are worth ....where you ever in chf ? or ever have any other medical problems???

I hope this helps you and puts you at ease......

when people are over weight there heart has to work much harder then a normal weight person that is a big reason why they do a ekg test on us before surgery ......

Thanks so much, ladies!

I'm a CNA, and I actually found out in my training class by mistake!

I have about 1-2 PVC's a minute, unless I have PMS or excess caffiene. Then they jump to about 3-4 per minute. I guess I'll just have to play the waiting game and find out, but you both made me feel much better. I don't think they'll use it as a disqualifier for surgery, because there may be a possibility that surgery can allieviate it, I bet!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
