June 13 in Michigan for me

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow, I start my 4 week Optifast diet. That will be the hardest part for me!!!! Getting banded through Sparrow Weight management in Lansing. Anyone else go through there?

We'll be banded on the same day.... I wish June 13th would just be here already!!!! I eat, sleep, and breathe lap-band ever since I decided to go through with the surgery and especially when I rounded up the money to pay for it.

Friday June 13th is my lucky day also :)

I have my pre-op on Thursday, hope all goes well with that so we can proceed. I am very excited, I have been DVRing big medicine lately. Before I was convinced I'd never get it approved and the diet classes I had to go to were really depressing so I didn't want to get my hopes up by watching it.

I am starting my third week of Optifast and doing okay- only cheated once by eating a strawberry. Imagine that- eating a strawberry is cheating!!! I am getting more and more nervous- just read a book that said that the mortality rate for bariatric surgery is 1 in 150! That sounds high to me. And, getting banded on Friday the 13th doesn't help my confidence much either!

I am still trying to figure out how to get the ticker thing.

This is my first post here - I just scheduled surgery for 6/24 - yay!

About mortality rates - my understanding is that for bypass surgery the rate is 1 in 200, but for the lap band it's only 1 in 2000. So rest a bit easier!

To create a ticker, go to a website that has them, such as tickerfactory.com. Enter your information there and highlight/copy the code that it provides once you've selected all options. Open another window for LBT and click on User CP then Edit Signature. Paste the code from tickerfactory.com into the text box.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
