I'm really starting to get down. I know that you're not supposed to compare yourself to others..but, i've only lost 10lbs since surgery on march 19th. got my first fill April 21. started with 4cc, he gave 1cc at my first fill. Had really rough couple of weeks after the fill but now have the hang of it. I weighed 200 the day of my surgery. I'm not eating much at all. Definitely less than a cup per meal. Why am I not losing? Others that had their surgery around the time of mine have lost 20 to 40. I definitely have restriction and i've got 5cc in a 10cc band. Help!

First your right do not compare yourself to others.

Second are you tracking what your eating ? you might not be eating ENOUGH. I KNOW your thinking WHAT ? But its true , I had the same issue right after being banded and my first fill. I went to see my nutrionist and we figured out i was not eating ENOUGH .

I was eating WELL below 1000 cals a day . If i get below that even now I wont lose . Try tracking what you eat on Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople for a few weeks even a week and see what you come up with .

Also are you walking ?

I agree that you might not be eating enough or not enough of the right stuff. Remember to get your Protein in! Could you call your nut or dr and talk to them about it?

Hi Lori,

You are not alone! I was banded on 12/21/07 and to date have lost 23.3 pounds! Frustratingly slow when others seem to lose much faster, but my Dr. keeps reminding me that I have less to lose. I am at 196 right now and would like to lose 20-30 more. Its definitely coming off, just not as fast as I thought when I signed on for this surgery. But I figure if its keeps up at this rate (1 pound perweek average) then by my 1 year mark (and Christmas 2008) I will be at goal!! Much better odds than if I hadn't had it done at all.

No words of wisdom from me, just commiserating with a slow loss!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
