Recommended Posts

I have been on the liquid protien diet for 5 days now and the first day was awful, i was so light headed, dizzy , foggy... you name it, i was a total wack job....it gets easier everyday, i don't feel so bad today and i don't even really get hungry....i am drinking the slimfast low carb diet shakes, eating alot of sugar free popsicles and some broth.... my surgery is may 21st.

My doctor said low carb / low cal diet and nothing about fasting before surgery.. which I will do Sunday as my surgery is Monday.. but I am eating very light... dont want to take the chance that I would have to have an open surgery instead of lap... but even the nurse said.. that is how all their patients do it low carb low cal one week before..

I would kill someone for protein! LOL It was a bit better today. I was in meetings where I didn't have to speak...which is always a bonus.

I will...the doctor gave me a sample of unflavored Unjury. I think I'll wait for tomorrow to use it. I took a bite of salmon tonight...I feel so damn guilty about it.

I had to do the stress test. Couldnt drink anything until 2 p.m. I was so dizzy I had to call in to work and come home and sleep. I felt much better once I got up and drank some more dinner. Sharillaree feel fee to pm me if you want to talk.

I'm on Day 3 of my 8 day liquid diet and I'm ready to eat my arm. I did have some fat free chicken broth last night and it was heavenly. My dietitian said that I could have 1 South Beach Tide Me Over mixes per day. Trust me, it's not very filling but it does taste great! I feel your pain!

I would kill for just about anything other than broth! I did find an unlimited Soup place and I drank about a gallon I think. LOL like four bowls! LOL! I felt so much better afterwards!

I would kill for some soup! My doc is very strict and it's 6 sugar free Carnation Instant Breakfasts per day and at least 48 oz of liquid along with it. I thought that I could handle just about anything but I'm ready to eat my arm!

I drink skim milk normally so I think I'd love it. I'm sorry we're both in the same spot. I called my docs office and they told me to add in Tomato Soup and a couple of saltines if I keep getting light headed and dizzy and to call her back if it continues. Its been going for almost a week now. SHEESH!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
