New and Struggling with Emotion

Recommended Posts

Hello to everyone

new 2 this forum, SAGB nov 07 in Belgium, slow weight loss but i guess its because i do not have much in the band -only bread is difficult. I am finding it very difficult with coming to terms with how i feel ie: to go to such measures to loose weight feel such a failure although i know i have not/could not loose weight previously on a long term basis, but it does not make up for the feelings i have. Hopefully this is only a stumbling block. Lots to read through and hopefully i will receive some responses.

many thanks..look forward 2 chattin...:welldoneclap:

Hang, in there. When did you get banded, and what type of success have you had. Remember day by day is the journey. In order to have a different result, we can't continue to do the same things.

Some days are harder than others and we must endure.

I would bet both. Talk to your doctor about how you are feeling and he can probably help you through it. You have done a great job losing 32 pounds so far! Don't lose faith in your tool now or let your head get the best of you! We all go through our ups and downs in this process. It's natural and does get better eventaully from what I have read.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
