Met with Dr Kurian at NYU today...my head hurts

OK so I was all excited today becouse i was finally meeting with my surgeon at NYU and I heard good things about her. After being there for a couple of hours meeting with nurses and the nutrionist I was all set to meet Dr Kurian and was told she wasnt in today. I was ready to flip out (becouse I booked this appt 6 weeks ago and toke the whole day off and everything) but it was a mix up she was in and met with me.

I didnt ask as many questions as I should have becouse i felt a little rushed but i trust her anyway. However the woman who submits paperwork to the insurance company was horrible. She was really rude and seemingly unorganized. I have to have blood work and then she will submit to insurance. (crossing fingers) Im sorry to bable just needed to vent i guess. Im trying to stay motivated so i wont let this imildly chaotic day discourage me. Thank guys

I am sorry you had a bad experience..I am being banded on 5/22 with Dr. Fielding. I do know that the person for the insurance and booking recently resigned The woman doing it now is new. I wish you good luck and a better experience in the future.

Wow, I am so surprised to hear about your experience at NYU. But I am supposed to meet with Kurian next Thursday. Based on your post I will call before and confirm all of my appts.

Please confirm all your appts. She is really nice but its a long appt. dont feel so rushed that you forget to ask her all your questions. Best to write everything down ( I wish I did ) And the Admin who sends your documents to the insurance company ( I think her name is Niera sp?) is rude but you will be fine. Good Luck

Thanks for evryones responces and support

You are referring to Nilsa and yes she can be rude. She rushes me off the phone.

I can understand your frustration. The local doctor's office got all four of my visits unpaid by the insurance. Their office is totally screwed up. I am so glad I am never going back there. I am sorry I even walked in the door. The doctor was ok, but I got a copy of his notes and I should have made them dictate them in front of me like my GP does. They basically show he didn't listen to anything I said and wasn't paying any attention. I doubt they will do me any good in my appeal. So, just stay on top of the insurance thing and ignore her rudeness. She works for you. Always write your stuff down to ask. I do that and I get all flustered and forget to check my note.
